Hi all, after some help. My TM sits on the bench next to my stove and I am worried about it getting dust and food on it. Was very expensive so I am really keen to look after it as well as I can. I have been searching for some sort of cover it but cant seem to find one through TM. There is one advertised on Ebay, wondering if anyone has one or has any feedback or advice. Thanks xox

This thread has inspired me to try freezing some biscuit dough. Have made this afternoon scrummy lemon cookies (but with orange), Chocolate ripple Biscuits and Cranberry and coconut biscuits. Have cooked a tray of each and will freeze the remainder of the dough. Hopefully the cooking the dough once frozen will be ok as will be so easy to have some in the freezer.
Can you share the coconut and cranberry recipe? Sounds yum

I held off buying a TM for some time because of the cost. Bought a few other "cheap" appliances in the meantime but found they were all useless so in the end, bit the bullet and got the TM. Never looked back.
Compliment to TM that someone tries to copy it, but at the end of the day, I think you get what you pay for and I dont think it will hurt TM as most will either buy good to start with or (like me) buy something useless first and wasting your money!
So happy I now have my TM!!!!!!

This is one of the reasons I bought a TM. I can now control a lot of what my family are eating and am cutting out a lot of preservatives and unknowns in food and my family LOVE it!!!!!

Thanks rjsj, we are always on the look out for easy ways to poach eggs. With this recipe are they more steamed than poached? it seems like the water wouldn't be coming up above the eggs in the basket - is that correct or am I reading the method incorrectly?
Because you scrunch up the paper, the steam does come above the eggs. I guess they are steamed and not poached as the eggs never actually touch the water, however they come out perfectly soft and runny. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts!

Ok so maybe being TM experts this is saying the obvious, but as a newbie and quite a few of my friends are, none of us seemed to know about this so sharing just in case there are any others! My family love love love poached eggs however I have never quite been able to master them - until the beloved TM arrived! Now we have the perfect poached eggs in minutes and everyone is happy! I use boiling water as it is much faster - cover the bottom of the TM to just above the blades. Place the simmering basket in the TM. Get some glad bake, scrunch up and run under water. Squeeze off excess water and flatten out into the base of the simmering basket. Crack two eggs into the basket. Put the lid on the TM including the MC. Cook 4 1/2 minutes, reverse speed, Varoma temp. Eggs will come out perfectly poached every time! If you want to make more, simply replace the simmering basket with the VAROMA. You may need to cook for a little longer depending on the amount of eggs! Any suggestions for things I could make to accompany the eggs?

Ok recipe - here goes. It is my own, and as I said, I am still tweeking it. Any help you can give with this recipe would be great. It comes out very nicely, just a little bitter. Am going to try this weekend by taking off the white flesh of the limes as suggested so will let you know.
8 limes 1 tbl salt 2 tbl vegetable oil 2 tsp mustard seeds 1 garlic clove 2cm piece fresh ginger, peeled 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp coriander dried 1 bunch fresh coriander fresh green chili (depending how hot you like it as to how much but green chili is not very hot) 1/4 cup water 80g brown sugar 2 tbl apple cider vinegar
Cut lime wedges into 8. Place in large bowl and sprinkle with salt. Cover and set aside in cool dry place, stirring occasionally for at least 2 days.
Add oil, mustard seed and cook 2 min varoma speed soft. Add garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander and chili. Speed 8 for 5 seconds then varoma temp, 1 minute speed soft.
Add lime, water, sugar and vinegar. Cook 10 minutes 100 temp reverse speed. (I like the limes chunky - you can chop first is you want finer)
Spoon into sterilized jars and set aside for at least 1 week for flavours to develop.

Both please. I can see up the top next to "user info" where I can click for "new replies to your posts" but what if there are no new replies and you just want to find a topic or response that you posted?

Still trying to work out how to navigate this forum, but so far loving it. Especially how helpful everyone is answering queries. Can you please tell me, when I post a new topic, how do I find it easily?

I was wanting to make up some things for my children to give out to teachers etc as Xmas gifts. I thought I could make something in the Thermomix, put in some jars and some Xmas tinsel etc to decorate. I thought beetroot chutney, white Xmas, but that is about as far as I got. Can I please get some help (and recipes) from the lovely ladies & gents in the Thermomix forum.
Many thanks
