jen71, i have a similar green smoothie every morning for breakfast and am interested to know why you only use the Kale leaves, I add the whole thing with the exception of the very thick end pieces.
The stalks of Kale can be quite bitter. So, to be safe, I stick to the leaves only. That's all. Your juice sounds delicious - I love the pineapple. Yum!

OOPS! I misread the instructions and accidently set the Thermie to Speed 4 for just a few seconds. I've ended up with minced chicken. It's still pretty tasty.

We are absolutely LOVING juicing in our TMX and I'm so impressed that we're not wasting all that pulp. When you make juice with a juicer, you're left with tons of waste. Not so, in the Thermy! Our favorite recipe is this variation of the "mean green" veggie juice: 2 carrots 1 cucumber a few kale leaves (no stalks) 1 stick celery with leaves 2-3 cm fresh ginger 2 handfuls baby spinach 1 quartered apple core and all water a few ice cubes Yes - it's thick like a milkshake. If you don't like it that thick, add more water. We like it thick because its more filling. And this morning I made a great breakfast juice: 2 oranges peeled 1 quartered apple (core and all) 2 handfuls of frozen raspberries a good chunk of fresh ginger 1 cup water Any other good vegetable juice recipes out there?

Thanks! We are an almost-paperless household over here. I've been copying the recipes I like & adding them to a word document. I just thought there might be an easier way. Thank you!

I just do not understand why people do that. What can they gain from spamming the forum??
Sad.
Thanks so much for clearing it out for us.

This sounds so tasty! Can't wait to try it.
By the way, is there some way I can mark posts like this as 'favorites' so I can easily find them later?

I also LOVE soap nuts and I have three grubby boys (ages 8,8, and 9) who get very dirty. The soap nuts tackle our tough stains surprisingly well. Theyre so economical - it's hard to imagine using anything else.
For any of the boys white t-shirts, I still soak in NappySan before washing.
But I do recommend you give the soap nuts a try. We love them.

Yes you can pay for apps with PayPal, but we prefer to use pre-paid gift cards for budgeting. So, we fill our account with 2 $50 iTunes gift cards and then we can't overspend. A friends child spent $180 in one night on apps. Ouch. So the prepaid cards prevent that from happening. I use my iPad in the kitchen every day, but most of that use comes from this forum, Quirky Cooking blog, and the SuperKitchenMachine blog. I do have paid apps, but I don't use them much. Cookie1 - iPads are so useful. We use them for recipes, reading, watching movies, playing games, and communicating with family via Skype. Go for it!

I'm new to TMX cooking too, and we are using a whole lot more of these items: eggs, milk, butter, EVOO, flour, onions, garlic, ginger, carrots, rice, and chicken. I agree with everyone else that what you need to stock will depend on your tastes. Each time I go to the shops, I'm buying a lot more fresh ingredients - which feels great! We haven't had any takeaway since THX arrived. We used to have Thai, Mexican, or Greek takeaway once a week, pizza on Tuesdays, and Subway on Saturdays. Not any more!

Thanks! It's much more fun than I expected. Can't wait till everyone is here for Christmas and I can show them what it can do.

I've only had my TMX for a few weeks, but so far our favorite is Jo's cashew chicken from her blog - Quirky Cooking. The cashew sauce is amazing! (not sure how to post a link to her blog, but if you google "quirky cooking cashew chicken" it's there) Here it is

Oh my goodness! I have been on quite a Thermomixing rampage! I'm sure you guys can relate ... It's SO FUN!! We made Nigella's blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Cheesymite scrolls for lunch. Tonight, while I was waiting for the 5 grain bead to rise, I made the delicious cashew chicken recipe I found on Jo's blog - Quirky Cooking. My kids wolfed it all down and kept insisting that it was exactly the same as our Thai restaurant, only better. (how cute!) We've had fruity dream every day for a week, so the kids helped me make chocolate cupcakes for something different. The 5 grain bread baked up beautifully and my husband is so impressed - "better than Bakers Delight" he said. Haha! This Thermie is getting a workout.
