Thanks Gertbysea. What sort of container? I wonder if a paper bag would work? I know we used to do it in saucepans as kids but it makes a real mess of the pots. And the microwaveable stuff from supermarkets although not expensive -is compared to buying unpopped plus it is full of nasties. Do I need oil or butter in the container?

These sound good I will be trying this out especially as everyone has an excess of zucchini in the garden at the moment.

Me too KateCooks, DH throught them out yesterday because they where in 'his firdges freazer' just after we had banana breaky bread for breakfast.  I went and rescued them and put them back,  I remember not buying them when they got to $14 a kilo so even at $3 a kilo here in WA I can't waste them.

Has anyone ever managed to pop popcorn in their tmx?
In theory it should work but I couldnt get it to happen.
If I could figure it out I could remove the popcorn machine from from my cupboard along with other gadgets I have replaced with my tmx and free up some more space.

Good work - I love ripe bananas - but all my staff throw them out when a spot of black hits them !!!

When they go brown I throw them straight in the freezer to make shakes, ice cream or cakes.
