Thanks everyone for your wonderful tips xx I've got my thermomix demonstration this afternoon - yeah! I spent yesterday evening copy and pasting loads of recipes that I want to try out from this site into my little cooking folder on my computer - can't wait to get to grips with this thermomix and really get going. Thanks for your support xx Bex

Thank you for all your lovely answers to my my introduction!
I've got my demonstration this afternoon - yippeeeee! I've already managed to get a thin brown layer of almond soup stuck to the inside of the bowl that I can't get off. The soup was fantastic, not burnt or anything but once I'd poured the whole lot out into another container there was what looked like a thin burnt layer of milk at the bottom. I did the thermomix self wash - didn't get it off... then I took it apart and gave it a good brush scrub with hot soapy water - that didn't work. Normally I'd go at it with a scourer but from reading some things on the site and the instruction manual I don't want to risk scratching the inside of the bowl and then risk 'tranferal of tastes'... any ideas? 4
Introduce Yourself / Saying Hello« on: November 27, 2010, 09:47:40 pm »
Hi Everyone,
I've just bought my thermomix, got it out of its package, given it its first clean and tried my first recipe!! Almond soup - delicious!. I've got 2 young children another one on the way (which will mean 3 children under 4 by March) and a husband that would love love love to be cooked for more often!! My usual cooking routine ends up being ...cooking mine and the children's lunch, cooking the childrens tea, and then being so exhuasted by the time I get the kids in bed that the last thing I feel like is cooking again for my husband. I'm hoping that the thermomix will reduce my cooking time, give me inspiration of what to cook (with the lovely big recipe book) AND reduce my fear of trying to cook delicious looking recipes!! and help me to enjoy cooking more! - I certainly enjoyed trying out an almond soup that I've wanted to try for ages but never had the guts to start a smooth soup with whole lot of hard almonds... eith the thermomix those almonds were powdered in seconds and the whole family wanted second helpings of the smoothest most yummy soup. Question: Is there a way of preparing something in the thermomix in the early morning and setting it to be ready by lunch time - enabling me to do something out of the house in the morning with the kids and coming back to the meal cooked and ready - ie a stew / lentils or something similar..... or do I always need to cook it first then go out, then heat it up for lunch? I'm really looking forward to trying out some of the delicious looking recipes on this site... Oh and another !Question: I'm english but live in Spain and have bought my thermomix here which is full of spanish recipes - delicious but I would love to know if there are other recipe books with different food too. Is this an australian site? I've never been to Australia - is your food more multi cultural like in England? Spain definitely has lots of delicious recipes but they are all very very spanish and the thermomix recipe book I have doesn't seem to venture out beyond spanish recipes. SO is there a site where I can brouse recipe books on line or at least their covers and titles? xxx Rebecca 5

Hi there, I'm trying to work out how to introduce myself and I've got a feeling that right now I'm replying to one person rather than introducing myself to the whole forum!!
Just in case I've got this right..... I've just received my Thermomix. I haven't even got it out of the box yet!! I was given a demonstration about 9 months ago and have been saving ever since and now that I've finally got it I feel rather overwhelmed!! I'm english, living in Spain with 2 young children and another on the way and thought that the Thermomix might help me out with my daily cooking. If this isn't getting to the whole forum could you let me know how to post to the section [Introduce myself) , thanks xx Bex, Spain
