Hi there,  I'm trying to work out how to introduce myself and I've got a feeling that right now I'm replying to one person rather than introducing myself to the whole forum!!
Just in case I've got this right.....  I've just received my Thermomix.  I haven't even got it out of the box yet!!  I was given a demonstration about 9 months ago and have been saving ever since  and now that I've finally got it I feel rather overwhelmed!!
I'm english,  living in Spain with 2 young children and another on the way  and thought that the Thermomix might help me out with my daily cooking.
    If this isn't getting to the whole forum could you let me know how to post to the section [Introduce myself) , thanks xx

Hi Bex, welcome to the forum. Cookie has put you in the correct place, now everyone can meet you. Don't be afraid of your TMX, get it out of it's box and stand it on the bench.  Just sit back and admire it for a while if you need to, browse this forum and get a feel for the love and enthusiasm our members have for their machines and it won't be long and you will be so inspired by the recipes on here that you will want to jump right in and start using yours.  Wonder if you could have another demo, 9 months was a long time ago so it would be hard to remember what you were shown back then.  Good luck with your first steps, it will be a great help to you in the kitchen.

Just wanted to say  ??? I can't believe you don't get shown how to use the TM. Are you really far away from your consultant?

I cleared out a cupboard to store my TM in when I got it and got to say it has never once been put in there - its being used too often to get a  chance to put it 'away'!!

welcome rebecation. thats funny that you jumped on the forum instead of unpacking your TM  :D I would have been beside myself. its an idea to make some vege stock first as a basic introduction, and then you can go from there. try and make as much as you can without resorting back to "the old way" or packet ingredients that contain additives. If you do want to resort back to the old way for something, then maybe think about first doing it in the TM and how you could go about it. Soon you will be so reliant upon it and become addicted to your little friend in the kitchen like us.

Thank you for all your lovely answers to my my introduction!
I've got my demonstration this afternoon - yippeeeee! 
I've already managed to get a thin brown layer of almond soup stuck to the inside of the bowl that I can't get off. The soup was fantastic, not burnt or anything but once I'd poured the whole lot out into another container there was what looked like a thin burnt layer of milk at the bottom.  I did the thermomix self wash - didn't get it off... then I took it apart and gave it a good brush scrub with hot soapy water - that didn't work.   Normally I'd go at it with a scourer but from reading some things on the site and the instruction manual I don't want to risk scratching the inside of the bowl and then risk 'tranferal of tastes'... any ideas?

Hi rebecation and welcome. I use a plasticy / nylon type scourer (that is designed for using on non-stick frypans etc) with a little dishwashing liquid and it always comes clean (with a little elbow grease). The ones we have at the moment are Aldi ones I think and they're bright colours but you can get them in any supermarket. Hope this helps.

Hi Bex,
welcome to the forum! I'm a newbie too so still on a big learning curve. This forum is sooooo good & everyone is so helpful!
I made rissotto & got some food stuck on the bottom. I put some water in the bowl, them heated it up to 100 & about spped one. Let it cool abit & then it came off fairly easily with the brush. Hope you can get it off without too much hassle. Enjoy your demo!
