Thanks JudyDawn, I have the MWOC one in the Thermomix (Ewok) now.
I have so many tomatoes at the moment I will give this other one you have suggested a go and compare.
Thanks again.

Hi All
I know there have been many recipes posted regarding tomato sauce but I am a little confused on what people c;ass as tomato sauce and what recipe I am best to use for what I need the sauce for!!
My children love tomato sauce in their sandwiches with Ham and on their BBQ sausages! I want to replace the sugary store bought sauce for a home made sauce that will last in the fridge for a month or more.
Which of the tomato sauce recipes in the EDC or on this forum am I best to use?? I am a bit overwhelmed!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Stacey
How did you go with getting your problem fixed? I had mine returned yesterday and it had to have the power board in the base replaced. Apparantly it had failed - which is something that doesnt occur very often.

Hi All
I am having some problems with my Thermomix. I have called my rep and she is coming in the next few days, but in the meantime I thought someone may be able to help me. The problem started when my husband was making bread. During the kneading process, the temp indicator showed that the temp was going up. Soon it was showing us the bowl had reached 100 degrees. We turned it off and removed the bowl. It was hot, and some of the dough had begun to cook to the bottom of the bowl. So we cleaned things out and I washed the bowl and cooled it down. Turned the thermomix on and off again. This time I added cold water to the bowl and turned it on to speed 3 - no heat. Within 1 minute the water was hot and the temp was reflecting 60 degrees. Just a reminder - I am not asking for any heat. So I then tested it asking for heat. Pressed 90 degrees added cold water to the bowl and it seemed to heat as it should, in the expected time frame. So we tried again with a lower heat 60 degrees. Things seemed to be ok, BUT the heat went up, it kept heating hotter than we had even asked.
So to summarise.
The bowl is heating rapidly - even when we dont ask for heat. When we do ask for heat - things seem ok, but it wants to heat to a hotter temp than we ask for. When it is doing its freaky self heating the heat light indicators dont remain on as it passes thru that temp. Only one light is on at a time. When it is doing its normal heating - when we ask it too - all the lights are on as they always have been. We have turned the whole thing off and unplugged and let it sit for 30 minutes. The problem still exists when it is turned back on.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Happy Birthday QuirkyCooking! Your blog has inspired me to give blogging a bit of a go! Cant say it will be as informative as yours but I actually find it a little therapeutic! It is however, something you need to remain dedicated to and I applaud you for continuing with it for two years, it shows your passion.

Hi All I was bought this book for Christmas and was instantly thrown into thoughts of how to convert the recipes. Especially since he even says at the beginning of the book that most of the recipes use a mixer or blender to speed things up - that was a sign for me right up front that the recipes could be good for thermie cooking. He does some great juices and icecreams and custards as well as pastas and risottos. I think I will start from the beginning and as I convert them I will post the recipes up to see what you think. I am a beginner at this though so you will have to be kind!

Quirky cooking I didnt realise you could freeze all that stuff...I have a big chest freezer that is half empty - it would be great if I had a better understanding of what I can freeze and what I cant - I am unsure of how long to keep things frozen and how best to store them...any hints or good websites?

Hi All
Wow andiesenji your pantry is fantastic even if you feel it is out of order, it looks great to the unknowing eye! I have posted photos of my pantry (re-organised) pity I didnt take unorganised ones for a before and after comparison...but all I can say now is it is far better organised than it was!
I have used mostly tupperware - at great expense but I find it the best. My spices are out of control! During this clean up I have done an inventory of them and I keep it posted on the inside of the pantry. It tells me in alphabetical order what spices I have and which container they are in. For example TT - Tall Tupperware. TS = Small Tupperware etc. I will then also be better able to keep track of when they run out so I dont buy 5 packets of the same thing!!
The Baked Bean recipe I use is actually a Jamie Oliver converted one. I havent posted it yet, but I will do so. I am in the process of making my way through the new Jamie Oliver 30 min meals book and converting the recipes as they are so well steered toward the thermie as he uses blenders etc in them a lot for speed. I think I saw another thread on here about it so I will have to revisit that.

Hi All
I finally managed to get around to sorting my pantry out today. I was amazed at how much stuff I have cut down on, things that have changed since Thermie arrived are:
a large variety of nuts and seeds are now in stock only raw sugar can be found - except for some Thermie made icing sugar Lots of wholegrains Lots of bakers flour - still trying to work out the best way to store this lots of homemade biscuits NO store bought biscuits, muesli bars etc No store bought tomato sauce No store bought baked beans (my kids live on baked beans but the love the homemade ones just as much).
Clearing out the pantry was a real eye opener to how our eating habits have begun to change.
