Thanks!

Today my goal is to make satay chicken starting off with raw peanuts.  Wish me luck  :)

I think what I love best about it is that I can make my own ingredients like peanut butter and mayonnaise and flours and know exactly what's in it.  Taste of quality ingredients and knowledge of what's in it is more important to me than speed.  (although speed is pretty good!)

Hi Jaffa - I've had my Thermomix for a day and a half and I don't think it's rested for very long since it arrived.

I've got a list of recipes a kilometer long that I've been dying to try.  So far I love it.

I'm having the best time with my new Thermomix!  The consultant made lemon custard and then left me to it.

I made mango sorbet, then my husband wanted to try it to make oatmeal (seemed like a lot of work to clean it for oatmeal but then he did pay for it), then I made the veggie stock concentrate and then some pumpkin soup.  I went out with the girls for dinner last night so hub did his own thing.

Today I made some spelt bread that was really good.  I couldn't believe the bread was fully kneaded in 2 minutes.  holy cow.  The bread was light and airy and I was expecting heavy and dense.

I made a chicken pie for dinner but used the Thermomix to make the gravy for it.  I didn't like the gravy with the balsamic vinegar and sugar but at least now I know how to make my own.

I have some questions but I'm so new to the forum that I don't know where to go to ask them.  For instance, I read a recipe for sour cream pastry that said process in and there was the closed bowl icon.  Does that mean put it on closed bowl and hit the turbo button?

So where would I ask my questions?  Thanks so much for making me feel at home.

Waiting for my new Thermomix has been the longest week in I can't remember when!  I went to a cooking demo last Saturday with my husband and we both thought it would really help in the kitchen.  I love to cook and I cook and bake a lot but a Thermomix is almost like a 2nd pair of hands.  I work long hours and getting a tasty meal on the table in less time sounds pretty good.

My new TM arrives at 11am tomorrow morning. Yes, on a Sunday, how dedicated is my consultant?  I'll have my demo on Saturday morning at 10am.  My guests rolled their eyes but still said yes.

I look forward to learning from all of you.  I've lurked for a little bit.  :)  Many of you are very clever indeed.

I'm a yank in Oz and we live in Minyama on the Sunshine Coast.
