Chit Chat / Re: Spare $2000 what would you buy with it« on: September 01, 2012, 12:06:49 pm »
If I had a spare $2k, I would take my family to see, their nanna and mum in WA, it's been a while. Then catch up with my sister in laws (Pattie and Selma) real names Debbie and Narelle in Kalgoorlie. For those of you who know who Pattie and Selma are, yes I do call my sister in laws that to their faces

Hi All,
I collect vintage electronics, and valve radios. It started when my dad who was a TV tech at the time gave me a valve operated portable radio, which had a 67 1/2 volt battery. Intrigued I found a new 67 1/2 volt battery in the states, (this was before the internet), paid a small fortyune for it, plugged it in and it worked straight away. My pride and joy is this guy, an AWA Empire State, classic Australian Radio from the late 30's, which at this stage still works (until the analogue frequency is switched off) This is not my unit but mine is exactly the same 7

Most of us would have them so it's not like she would have to bring dozens of them and by then the second printing of FFS should have been done. Tenina are you there, what do you think of this suggestion. That's correct Gert, Tenina is still overseas until I believe late next week 8

Afternoon All, there may have been a rumour circulating that I would be attending the retreat weekend. This was just a rumour, I wont be attending the weekend away, but I may be in WA before the end of the year. If so I will make a post if anyone would like to see the machine in action

Chit Chat / Re: Thermomix vs Hotmixpro (gastro)« on: May 10, 2012, 01:08:08 am »
Hi Merrilyn, am glad that you are happy with the HMP Easy. Are you aware that you do not need to set the time. The EASY can cook to temperature. For example if you are making a custard, and set say 82°C, then the HMP will switch off at 82°C. No need to set the time......
But or course you can cook to time as well, Enjoy! 11

To Answer Meagans Question, the Gastro does stir and has multiple speeds as well as the capability to stop the blades altogether, both machines have this feature, please have a look at the speed table below.
Our selling method is via selected retailers, dealers include HISCOi n WA, Tasmanian Hotel and Catering Supplies, Chefs Hat in Melbourne, Debney Distribution in SA Ambassador Catering Equipment in QLD, and Kitchen Kapers in NSW. The Gastro is a commercial machine and as such is being distributed through our commercial dealer network. Our experience is that most of our customer know what they want, and they purchase it. They have no need to go through a 3 hour presentation when they know what they want and know how to use the appliance 1 - 120 rpm 2 - 315 rpm 3 - 830 rpm 4 - 1780 rpm 5 - 2935 rpm 6 - 4000 rpm 7 - 5330 rpm 8 - 7140 rpm 9 - 8950 rpm 10 - 10250 rpm TURBO - 12500 rpm 15

I know that the name is unfortunate, If it was up to me I would not have named the Gastro, Gastro. The manufacturers named the machine, after from what I understand after Gastronomic which the definition according to Wikipedia is "gastronomic; pertaining to all things humanly digestible."
