I made these tonight for the kids and it went down a treat! Used some broccoli and cauli florets instead of zucchini and reduced cornflour. Yummy!

Anzac bickies using quirky jo's recipe for morning tea at the park with the kids (DH ate about half the batch so must have been good...) and pizzas for dinner here to use up last of the veg and leftover roast. Might take a leaf out of Gert's book this coming week and take inspiration from my pantry

I started with something 'safe' the mushroom risotto I had already seen made at the demo 😄 my only oops moments have been when using mince bought from the supermarket (rather than mincing in TM myself) it's really so fine you have to be careful not to mush it

I used jasmine rice too. I agree with kt2 the thinner ones were best, when I make it again will follow the tips.

Chit Chat / Re: Varoma, how often do you use it & what do you make?« on: December 30, 2013, 04:53:33 am »
I use mine fairly frequently, and if there is the opportunity to chuck some veges on while something else e.g. rice or potatoes is cooking below, I will load it up and steam until just cooked (still a bit of crunch) and keep the leftovers in the fridge to snack on, or to speed up a week day meal.

These patties made a lovely lunch for me today. I made six large ones and used the confit garlic and garlic oil from the same book, as suggested. I served with poached egg, avocado and tomato. The patty was borderline too salty for me, next time I will reduce the soy sauce, probably to 60g. It would make a delicious burger! I didn't take a photo as it actually ends up looking exactly as the picture in the book.

I don't know if I am a little delirious from the festive season, but I had such fun making these! My only issue was that my noodles didn't come apart when I swirled them in the water, perhaps I didn't put enough oil between the layers or I just need more practice. Next time I will probably just steam each layer separately to save fussing around.
If anyone has had success steaming in layers I would love to hear your tips I am going to use my noodles in pad thai for dinner tonight. Linked CC 10

I made this dough tonight and it was a delicious change to the usual white bases we have. The dough had a slight crunch and was relatively easy to work with despite the warning in the intro that it is a sticky dough (although having said that, it took some time to get it all out of the bowl...) Given the kids devoured it without a second glance, I will be making this again!
