I used Valerie's recipe the last time which had the most success.
I might order some of the yoghurt starter. 5

Made yoghurt 3 times and have had no success.
Stringy first 2 times and 3rd slightly better but still not 'set' so very runny. I have tried 2 different pot set natural yoghurt ( Jalna and Paul's ), also bought a milk thermometer to try getting temps exact. Used thermosaver all 3 times but not with a towel. I pre-warned it the first 2 times but not with the 3rd attempt. I really want to make it work!!!! Any tips? I have an easyio thermos which I might try next, do I need to pre-warm it or add boiling water? 6

Made 4 batches of this recently ( for us and my parents ) I am not a jam eater but I love this stuff!!!!
I blitzed all ingredients and never had a burnt mark after cooking. My last batch I used 450gm strawberries and 180g sugar, worked great Am going to try Rapadura sugar next time. 8

Very old thread but made these today and they were great!
I used 2 smallish bananas. I served with freshly made Strawberry Vanilla Jam. Great to use up all the buttermilk I have in my freezer 9

Cakes / Re: Carrot cake with nuts Thermomix easy« on: September 13, 2012, 11:28:09 pm »
Yum! Made it last night and it is so easy and tasty.
I used almonds and then added some walnuts at the end for some crunch. Had no maple syrup so used 60gm light agave syrup in the icing, yummy and not too sweet. I am going to make a few batches into cupcakes for my sons 4th birthday party next week as he has requested a "veggie patch" cake and theme party! 12

Yeah I was going to do a double batch and do 1/2 as muffins and a cake as I am sure it will be yummy and go fast
Freezing the cream cheese icing - would I just wrap the cake slice/muffin in glad wrap? 13

Going to make this on the weekend for hubby to take to work for his morning tea treat every day.
In the past when I make carrot cake the cream cheese icing goes thin, yellow and cracks after a few days in the fridge. Would I be better to freeze individual slices? 14

I've made them and frozen before cooking. Worked really well. Just took out of the freezer and put in the oven and added a few extra mins to cooking time or defrost slightly before cooking.

Does anyone know the weights for the ingredients list? Since having my tmx my measuring cups have made their way to the kids sandpit
I did a 'rough' guess and seemed to be ok. I used a mix of Rapadura/Coconut Sugar and Cacao powder. Came out very dark brown but yummy |
