I probably should have mentioned that I use this for caramel slice, Anzac caramel slice, to layer in brownies before cooking (yum)! I imagine it would work for banoffee pie also. Anything that calls for caramel really.

Cheats Caramel

Ingredients:
1 can condensed milk
60g butter
2 Tablespoons golden syrup

Preparation:
1. Place all ingredients into TMX. cook 100⁰- 8 mins - speed 3/4. Give sides of bowl quick scrape.
2. Cook further 5mins varoma temp - speed 3/4.

Tips/Hints: You could probably continue to cook longer if you required a thicker/darker caramel, however you would need to give the bottom of tmx a good scrape as it starts to catch on the bottom.

Great to find a recipe that is different but still very simple to make....and super delicious.

I made this in a small cake tin lined with baking paper. Everyone in the family loved it. Will definitely be joining my favourite recipe collection. I love the lemon filling, but am tempted to try other fruit fillings as suggested.

Thanks for a great recipe.

Yum Yum Yum! Made this last night, it was so easy to make. Following advice from the thread I just mixed up the sauce in the tmx (without washing the jug!) and poured over the top before putting in oven. Delicious! I would definitely make this when I have visitors for dinner.

Made this with dark chocolate as I realised too late that I didn't have enough white choc. Result is delicious! Didnt add the salt flakes though as the bitterness of the dark choc takes away a bit of the sweetness.

I made this cake today. Very nice but could cut back on sugar I think.

I mixed all wet ingredients together for about 5 seconds on speed 5 and then added dry ingredients and mixed for further 20 secs on speed 5.

Yum! This is the best of all the fudges I have tried so far - so easy too! I will be using this as the base to all my fudges from now on. Thanks for a great recipe.

This cake is so easy and very delicious! My family demolished it very quickly. Will definitely become a favourite as always have the ingredients on hand.

Juanita did you add the butter at the end? The butter is really important as it seems to stop the custard from having that horrible rubbery texture. I learned that when I forgot to add it one time.

The apple remains a little bit firm with yummy sticky sauce around it, and nice bits of pudding on top. I usually let it sit out of the oven for about 10 minutes which seems to thicken the sauce to the right consistency and then the apple isn't too hot! It is still really nice cold the next day also.

We have a similar version of this in my family and have just made in the tmx. Yum!

The recipe we make is;

3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
90g butter
Mix together in tmx until combined evenly.

Peel and core 4-6 apples and cut in half placing face down into shallow dish.
Sprinkle mixture over top and pour 2 cups cold water over that before placing into hot oven, about 200C.

I then make the tmx custard to serve with it.

So easy!

I was just thinking I should make and try freezing for school lunch boxes! Good to know it freezes well with the icing.
...off to make another one.  :D
