what sort of rice are you cooking and for how long? I love the rice in the TM and have banished my rice cooker to the back of the bottom cupboard, possibly to be passed on to someone else soon  8)
Hi Meagan,
I'm using Jasmine rice that I always use in my rice cooker.
Following the recipe from the EDC, I tried the rice at 13mins and it wasn't cooked enough, so I put it on for another 2 mins so 15 mins total to be cooked through.
To me, it tastes like boiled rice rather than steamed rice. It does get better after you leave it in the Thermo Server though.
But it still just lacks that soft fluffy texture that I would get from the rice cooker.

Wow I can't believe how many people on this forum are from WA!  :o

Thanks all, for the welcomes :)

@ Cookie-la-la - I'm sort of north east :) Maylands / Mt Lawley side.
I've tried rice in the TM but I must admit the rice cooker still does it better. Shame  :'(

@ judydawn - Yes the TM has earnt a spot on the kitchen bench next to the toaster.
Pity it doesn't do toast otherwise the toaster would be gone too! LOL
I try to use it everyday so it's definitely out to stay.

Well I've finally bit the bullet and bought a thermomix after hearing many things about it from friends with one.
(And the fact that my food processor needed to be replaced  :-)))
I've only had my TM for a week now but have already found out how useful it has been in the kitchen.
It's like having a second helper around  :D

Not to mention, I've been so impressed with the multi functions the TM does that I've started emptying my pantry with other appliances that are now no longer needed! So it's also become a space saver too  8)

It's great to see there is such a big community for this product.
Plus my TM consultant has been so helpful and supportive.
I can't wait to try some of the recipes on this forum.
