Ingredients 100g butter 90g sugar 175g flour 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons golden syrup Preparation Heat oven to 180° and prepare a tray. Beat the butter and sugar on speed 4 until well combined. About 1-2 minutes. Scrape the bowl down. Add the rest of the ingredients. Knead until combined. Take the dough out and divide into 3. Roll each into a sausage shape about 1 inch thick. (2cm I think) Place onto the tray and squash down gently with your hand. Space them well apart as they spread. Bake for 12-14 minutes and cut diagonally while they are warm. These have a delicious flavour. I may try malt or molasses next time. ![]() 44

Often , one veggie predominates. A handful of shaved Parmesan cheese added at the end and mixed in, balances out any predominant taste and adds to the creamy texture. Yesterday’s soup was carrot potato cauliflower zucchini and celery. Water and 3 soup cubes.

It was in a pub and all the food was vegan. Although I eat and cook mostly vegan food, I had never had food like that before - really different and interesting, everyone enjoyed it. I must start looking at the possibility of changing some of the foods I cook.
