The bowl on the 6 fits down into the base a little more firmly. Also the 8 second, cooling down, is incorporated into the cooking time. It doesn’t add 8 seconds to your time, it just says about 10 seconds before the time is up, that the machine is cooling down. I hate waiting the 8 seconds on the 5.

Something else I have just realised. When you knead on the 5, when the time is up it automatically goes back to the Home Screen. If you need to knead more you have to select knead again.
With the 6, when the time is up it stays on the knead function. For more kneading all you do is turn the dial again.
No great thing, but a small improvement.

Thanks Cookie, both small but useful improvements.

Yes, I agree and last night mine had another update.  Haven’t had a chance yet to see what’s new.

Great thread thank you all. After reading this I'm still not sold on the 6. However DH may be interested as he still complains about the noisy 31 after all these years  :-))  As usual, if you want the good info, this is the place to come  :)

I’ve always been concerned  about the vey tight fit of the cap on the 6. It was good to see an official statement about this.  I use an old plastic cap when cooking at a high temp. This allows more steam to escape without spilling over or splashing out.

I'm similar Chookie, or I don't put anything at all on it.

Probably a good idea as they aren't tight fitting.

Thanks for the post re the onions Julie! I've just purchased TM6 and am researching before trying out recipes. Your experiences will save me time, and I love you try things I wouldn't think to do!
