Review - Almond Porridge Pge 6 Tenina's Breakfast eBook
« on: October 27, 2013, 12:28:10 am »
Well that was the tastiest bowl of crunchy almonds I have ever tasted  ;D  Always looking to reduce calories & costs in dishes, I used Carnation Coconut Milk instead of coconut cream and my home made vanilla extract instead of vanilla paste then followed the recipe. It was quite runny to start with but I let it sit in my cereal bowl whilst I cleaned the TM bowl and it had thickened a little more by the time I was ready to eat it.  This made 2 bowls of porridge and was certainly sweet enough for me.  I might even reduce the maple syrup a little next time too.  Served with blueberries, I took a while to get used to eating crunchy almonds and wondered if I should have ground them a little more but I soon got used to it and it was delicious.  I still might grind them for an extra second next time though as it took me quite a while to eat my breakfast this morning  ;D

good review JD. This was one that I had earmarked too. Sometimes its just nice to vary the breakfast menu otherwise we wake up day after day and have the same thing.

It's certainly easy to have the same thing every morning CP but as you say, occasionally you feel like something different.  Normally toast is all I want, especially when I sleep in until 10am  :-))
