I'm in the process of making this. Where did you use the pear juice Maddy? Did you put it in with the dressing?

Hope I'm not too late cookie.....but I actually forgot to put the pear juice in  :P but yes, in with the dressing.
.........EAT CAKE!

Phew, that is what I did Maddy. I put one spoonful in and tried it and then added the other. Everyone loved the salad and it is so easy to make.

Oops, sorry I didn't realise until I just saw your entry about the pear juice that I'd missed it out in the instructios  :P

I've modified the recipe now to include it.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Glad you all like the recipe.

I take it you steam the pears as you buy them in the supermarket, very firm and green?
Is there anyway of making pear juice from a pear as it seems a waste to buy a whole container of it (especially in a health food shop) for just a couple of tablespoons. Having said that, I guess you would freeze some of the leftovers in ice-cube trays for the next time you wanted to make this salad. Could you use the juice from a tin of canned pears instead?

this is pear juice (but concentrate) it can be used in place of sugar for cooking also (with a half ratio). think what you get in a can for juice is going to be water and sugar unfortunately. the pear juice is in a jar and can be kept at room temperature so I'm just going to keep it in the pantry as I have no room in the fridge (thanks to pantry moths)

Thanks CP, that would be like the apple concentrate I bought some time ago and have never used. Mmm, wonder if that would do?

Would you be able to buy Pear Juice in cartons or jars in the babyfood section of your supermarkets :)
