Yeah and somethings he told me 40 years ago he is still telling me. Hello, am I not listening? 45 years next month. Yikes :o

Gretchen

45 years Gretchen - thats fantastic. Congrats. I tell my DH I would have been out on parole by now if I'd murdered rather than married him. ;) ;)

could be the reason why the marriage has been so successful so far?  ;D ;D  ;D God bless selective hearing   :D (well it always worked for my DH when the kids were little)

I'd planned to make this but then after reading this review, nearly changed my mind....but I soldiered on, determined to make it edible...
In the end I didn't mind the finished product. The flavours were similar to a home made indian curry, I left the celery out as i'm not the biggest fan. And served it with rice noodles as thats what I had on hand.
I think it would be nicer if you used diced chuck steak and doubled the cooking time or something like that. As the mince is quite mushed by the end of the cooking.
I don't think I'll be racing to make it again, then again i don't make many recipes twice unless I love them...too many to try!  ;)

With the leftovers I made some nice toasted pita breads....

Pita with cheese on half of it and beef and cabbage mix on the other half, heated under the grill and then folded over.....really yum!
So much so that my mum wants to make it just so that she can make these for lunches!

Worst meal ever in the 1 year I've had a thermomix! It's my 1st ever disappointment to come out of my Thermomix!
All of us said no way, threw it out and ate sandwiches for dinner!
It wasn't so much the flavours as the consistency and timings, just all bad. This recipe was the first I've tried out of 'Budget' cookbook, hope they improve.

I've never made this but have made other things from this book. I was pleased with them.
Perhaps check the reviews on here before you try anything else.

I haven't cooked it but to be honest the recipe title has "warning"all over it- not too many fabulous things come out of mince and cabbage!

I remember when I first made this -  :-X :-X Not great at all!
Chelsea (Thermie Groupie) has posted a really nice chow mein recipe, I don't know how to link to it but if you do a search on the forum home page for Chelsea's Chow Mein, you should find it ok.

Done for you KT2  ;)
