Hello everyone
« on: September 07, 2011, 07:38:34 pm »
Hello Everyone, I'm a new owner of a Thermomix.  In fact, so new that I'm still waiting for it to be delivered.  I bought it after months of consideration and finally attending a demonstration in a beautiful town some 30 miles from where I live.  I am impressed by the Thermomix's multi-functional design but the price has made it difficult for me to make up my mind.  I hope I'm going to use it often so it doesn't just sit on a kitchen worktop occupying space and doing nothing.  I need your encouragement to be adventurous with it.http://

Lottie, welcome to the forum.  You will find no trouble using your new TMX daily.  Best way to do that is to leave it on your bench top permanently - don't hide it away in a cupboard where you are constantly having to get it out every time you want to use it.  There are so many ideas and recipes on here I think you will find it nigh on impossible NOT to use it at least once a day - indeed, you will find yourself turning to it several times daily to make something - you won't be able to stop yourself once you start using it.

Stock up your larder with the basics and promise to make one new recipe each day or each week so that you are constantly stunning your family and friends with the wonderful new food you are making - all at the flick of a switch.

Hi Lottie,
I'm still new to this forum, however have found it great for giving ideas and tips of what to make.  I'm not adventurous with meals and not yet confident at tweaking, but I do make my own spaghetti (I made ravioli a few nights ago), yogurt and bread a few time a week.  Not to mention whipping up rice pudding or custard for the kids at school.  I think the only problem you'll have with your TM is your expanding waist from trying all the yummy recipes that are now just too easy to whip up lol.
Have fun and enjoy the food  ;D

Hi Lottie, welcome to the forum. You only have to spend a few hours (or days) reading this forum to see how much we all love our machines.  There is no doubt you will get your money's worth from the machine and love it as much as the rest of us. Looking forward to hearing about all your TMX adventures.

welcome! you will indeed use thermy at least once a day, I even use it for porridge, and I swore Id never forsake the microwave for that!
I am making so much more.....the indian cookery book in the uk is wonderful, and we dont go to the takeaway at all now!
I have even had a go at gluten free  'kfc' which actually tastes very similar to the real thing, according to my daughter.
You will not look back!

Hi Lottie,

You are just going to love Thermomixing!  We here, at the Forum, are all complete devotees to the magic that is Thermomix.  The waiting is the worst part. Everyone here told me to be patient and read the recipes and posts on here but it only made the longing worse.  Make sure you have tonnes of all the basic ingredients as you will be cooking up an absolute frenzy one it arrives.

Enjoy Thermomixing - we all do!!

Welcome Lottie, As everyone has said - leave it on the bench. I find now it is easier to chop onions and garlic in it even if I am not using it to make the meal! (which is not often!) Read few some recipes and you will be inspired!
Enjoy.
Nikki.

Welcome to the forum - I'm a new Thermomix owner too and I've already tried heaps of stuff.  I'm not a great cook but this is allowing me to try meals I would never have tried before.  Have fun when it arrives.

hello and welcome Lottie. My advice is to clean your house while you wait for the TMX to arrive. Once it arrives you won't want to leave your kitchen  :-* :-*
