I had often looked at this recipe and thought it sounded interesting so after this thread was started I was motivated to do it. What a great cake. Makes a large cake and with no eggs, butter or milk it's handy for the times I run out of eggs and/or have been too lazy to make butter. Next time I going to try JD's idea of some grated chocolate.

Could someone please pm me the recipe for this cake as my consultant is out of the budget buster recipe booklets. I want to try it with GF flour as per one of the posts in the special diets section. I would be extremely grateful for the recipe and my kids will thank you as well!!

I've PM'ed you the recipe Merlin. My DD brought this booklet and the Festive Booklet back with her, as a present for me, when she returned from Oz last year.I think they are super little books.

I tried this yesterday, I didn't love it, was passable, but not sure I'd make it again unless in a bind!

I preferred Bimby's Choc cake :)

Will experiment with some of my own choc cake recipes too!
