my bowl is still a virgin and she is staying that way  ;D

;)  gee fundj - how do you get the TMX  to work without a bowl????????  ;)

Yesterday, I made the veg stock from the FSA book.  After I put the stock into a jar I was horrified to find there was a nasty ring of cooked -on- stuff around the perimeter of the bowl - was a little scared to try anything too drastic and I had just that morning (before making the stock) given it a good vinegar clean (and used the last of what white vinegar I had :-))   Sprinkled a good dose of bicarb over the base (without the blades), left it for about an hour and then added a little water.   With the help of some soft rubbing with a paper towel it was amazing how much of the stuff came off.  The upper reaches of the bowl were still stained a little from making some quince paste (the vinegar didn't make a dent in that one) so rubbed some wettish bicarb over that and now it's all nice, bright and shining! :D :D :D

I have two bowls. One is pristine the other not so much!.

Just make sure you don't leave it in the sink full of water for any length of time as there are two little holes at the top of the handle that will eventually take water into the handle, only if it is left there for ages.

Trust me everyone, I still swear by the dishwasher. I have been putting in my two bowls+blades as well as the MC and lid (one set is 18 months old and the other 6 months old) virtually daily for their lifespan and they still look brand  new afterwards. The only scratch marks on one are related to my DH who thought it would be a good idea to scape posts mash out of the bowl with a metal spoon when I wasn't at home one evening! GGRRRRRRRR! The only time he can cook with thermie is when I'm around and can remind him- honestly, he's just as bad as my kids sometimes!

Merlin I do use the dishwasher if I use tmx last thing at night but during the day I find it easier to just wash as I go.

Would be no good me using the dishwasher to clean my TM bowl, it would be half way through and I would have a sudden urge to cook something (which I do often) ;D

I worried the dishwasher would fade the plastic parts like I have seen them do to the knobs on pot lids, so I have never put mine in the dishwasher.

True, I often wash as I go also but  if the bowl is particularly dirty eg some staining at the bottom, I will definitely then use the dishwasher,
