I have to supervise too in this house as everyone tends to use cold water or warm, I like hot hot water to wash up in.
When DH and I first got together I had to teach him how to wash up, like don't put a greasy frying pan in the clean water to wash up before you wash everything else up. I don't know how many times I had to re wash the dishes :(

Found him behind the shed.       Cute cuddly scruffyness.....

I spotted him, and thought I am going to marry you instantly... ;)  which I did.

No rinsing here, hot hot water, minimal eco friendly detergent and I change the water if it gets yukky.  When DH does them I stay in another room and don't think about what he is doing, in the morning I give them a good wipe with a clean tea towel to get rid of the missed bits ( >:().

My husband is very good at domestic chores too.
I owe it all to his mum though, she trained him well.

I hope my DIL says that one day Michele. I am trying very hard to train DS but some days I think I would better off banging my head against a brick wall.

My DS was like that too at 7yrs old.
i had a strict clean up rule or no play. At 22yrs he is quite domesticated now.
I'm sure one day a lovely DIL will be saying thankyou.

So not all hope is gone yet Michele  ;)
I don't know whether I will survive another 15 years. Took nearly all day to clean his room yesterday. His idea of cleaning is to throw it all in his cupboard and close the door. He did help clean the bath and fridge though so I guess that is a start.

Throw the mess in the cupboard and close the door works too.
Have had to that on occasions myself when company has turned up unexpectedly - so it is a good skill to master.

Yes, I always rinse the suds off too. I also put hand cream on before my rubber gloves and the heat from the water helps it to absorb  ;D
