Whoppee pie and muffin top pans
« on: July 31, 2011, 05:32:49 am »
Can anyone tell me what, if any, difference there is between a whoppee pie tin and a muffin top tin?

To be honest I haven't seen a muffin top tin, but saw a whoppee pie tin yesterday and I would imagine that they are inter-changeable, is that correct?

The muffin top tin is bigger.
You could easily use that, and use an ice cream scoop to get exact portions of batter, or just use a baking tray.

Hi marina,

I bought the whoopie pie cook book and tin on friday.

I hav no idea what a muffin top is.

The whoopie pie are round and are not very tall, your filling is thicker than the pie and they are sandwiched together. Wish I could send you a photo

I bought these from our local kitchen shop and they told me they were the latest craze.

Have taken a pic of muffin top pan as Maddy indicated they are bigger than the whoopee pie tin. Made a batch whoopee pies and used the patty tins with very low sides, not ideal but were raved about  :) will post when I am not posting using iPad  :)
