Thanks for the thoughts everyone

I was desperate to own EDC and bought it via the UK and had it sent to Deutschland.  I am glad I have it but certainly it is not the greatest book on the planet by any stretch of the imagination.  The German books are wonderful, if you can read them!  Much higher quality and all the recipes work, unlike EDC.

Jeden Tag Genießen is fabulous, like EDC with a German flavour.  Viva Italia is wonderful, as is the Wunderbares Backen but it is a baking book only.

I am going to get the Varoma one in December, as Ed only allows me one new Thermomix book a month, and it makes the anticipation last longer!

Yeah I tend to be impatient too and want them all now, even if I wouldn't use the immediately. Lee as you have both JTG and EDC do yoU find that one makes the other largely redundant?

I admit I tend to ignore Wunderbares Backen as I am not a fan of German breads and cakes which means I forget about the few things in it I would eat (Apfeltaschen, Flammkuchen - OMG do I love that, ESP during the Winter markets. Makes up for the freezing weather). Going to checkout the contents of Viva Italia, no idea what's in it.

Have you seen there are a few other book with TMX recipes on EBay.de, unofficial ones I guess.

Congratulations on winning the book - let us know if you do end up receiving it  ;)  If they didn't want to pay the huge postage cost, they should have said the competition was only for people in Australia.

Will do and thank you, I was surprised as heck when I read the email after I'd woken up. I wonder if it will arrive as part of a shipment to the UK or German offices.

Wow!  $60 postage!  Even more expensive than ginger in Australia  :D

Only just :D

Love my EDC (with all my notes that have been added from reading the forum) and Fast & Easy Indian Cookery. I use these two all the time.
Can't be bothered with My Way of Cooking, Full Steam Ahead, Meat on the Menu (I never cook meat in the TMX). the Vegetarian one is OK.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

To my surprise "In The Mix" arrived this morning, costing them AUS $61.87 of postage, even more surprising is that it went past customs without them asking me to pay anything :) (which they did on a complimentary book from American once, on which I had done the technical editing)

Equally surprised that it was personally signed by Dani with my name in it which is neat.

Excellent - glad they sent it to you regardless of the postage!

Have you had a chance to look at it yet? I am addicted to cookbooks but unfortunately more for the "pretty" pictures than the actual recipes!!
