How exciting for you to have your Thermomix at last.

When I got mine I went to the supermarket the next day and bought a big bag of bakers flour, raw sugar, nuts, dried fruit, milk powder and other things that seem to crop up in lots and lots of recipes.  Then you can be happy at home cooking up a storm!!

And the nice thing about going to the supermarket is you can stroll down the aisles looking at various things thinking how you need never buy them again because you can make them yourself now!

My consultant lent me a spare EDC book in the lead up to delivery so that I could look through it and do my shopping accordingly before the big arrival.  I appreciated this a lot, it was a great way of being organised and getting used to the format of the recipes.

First day with my TM and I made Pikelets, Cheese and Bacon rolls, Stock concentrate (Which I got my husband to taste. lol. He said it horrible, but I already knew that.lol) and finished off the day with chocolate custard which was a hit. Not sure what I will cook tomorrow as yet but have a few ideas. Thanks everyone for your input.

Freeze the chocolate custard in little snack cup size for the kids lunchboxes.  DD LOVES this in her lunchbox.  A nice healthy little treat for her. :)

That was a great idea of your consultant's to lend you the book while you were waiting. Have fun with your new machine and let us know how it's all going!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Question - do you just pop it in frozen - does it defrost by lunch? Or eaten half frozen/frozen/defrosted? I'm guessing quite a thick custard?

If you use the little decor cups they sell as snack cups, they defrost by lunchtime and they also have the bonus of keeping everything else cold ie salads, vegetable sticks etc. Also, it's not a huge quantity in there so the kids  get to eat other things and not just fill up on custard.

What recipe did you use for the custard ladies?  My kids are all excited for school lunches.

Gee was funny reading back on this thread when I first got my TM 15 months ago.

As for the custard recipe I think it would be the one from the EDC book?

Wow dede, it would be nice to look back and see how confident you are now.
For example your Kaiser Rolls, actually all the bread you make.
