Chocolate Marble Cake EDC
« on: May 17, 2012, 07:03:43 am »
Judy, i couldn't find a review on this. If there is please put with the others, thank you.

This cake took 50 mins to cook, slightly longer than the time stated in the EDC. I swirled it gently as mentioned and maybe it was too gently as the chocolate layer didn't reach the bottom of the cake. Not sure if it was meant too. Taste is lovely & light and its a nice cake for a change.

H :)

That looks lovely H, I haven't had a lot of luck with cakes in the TMX I might give this one a try.

I couldn't find one either Hally even though I'm sure someone would have made it.  Have linked yours.

Did you put the chocolate mix on top of the plain, Hally? I remember making marble cake at school (OMG! Several decades ago!), and we put alternate spoonfuls of the light and dark mix around the cake pan, layering It until all the mix was used up, then swirled with a skewer.
Maybe it's time I made a marble cake again....don't like to have the same things too frequently!  :D

Thanks Wonder, big hit with ds, has already requested I make another one.

SP, 2/3 of the mixture in the cake tin, then add the chocolate podwer, a little sugar & milk to TM, then place on top & swirl :) easy.
A really nice change from normal cake :)

I'll post the recipe from the earlier EDC, I take it the recipe is perfect the way it is?  It's just called a marble cake.
