hello from Cooking-Good-Looking
«

Very excited about a week to go until my Thermie arrives! I am driving everyone nuts talking about it and i am soooo over cooking without it!
Look forward to joining the community and making some cooking friends. I live with my husband and my dairy intolerant 2 year old.
Couple of quick questions:
Can nuttelex be substituted for butter in recipes with successful results?
Is this forum used more frequently than the recipe community forum? Looking forward to attending some cooking classes too.
The countdown is on 1 week to go- until then I am looking at recipes and dreaming that it is in my kitchen!
CGL.

CLG welcome to the forum, not long to wait. You can talk about your TM as much as you want on here cause we will all listen and not get sick of it
As for Nuttelex I don't know much about it, but sure someone else will be able to help.
And I prefer this forum to any other as I have got to know a lot of the members and know my way around so well now after 16 months.
Hope the time goes quickly for you while your waiting

Welcome. I love your forum name.
A lot of us prefer this forum to Recipe Community as we were members of this before the other started. We have become 'friends over the years as can be reflected in the fact that a lot of us are having a get together in August here in WA.
Having said that many of us are also members of recipe community.

Hello CGL, welcome to the forum. This will be the friendliest forum you will ever find and we hope you join in with us. It is not all about cooking as you will find out if you do a bit of browsing but eventually we get back to discussing food and the TMX. You will probably have plenty of questions when you first take delivery of your machine (or even beforehand) so ask away and someone will give you an answer. We label some of our members Queens of this and that so you will soon get to know who is who and feel as if you have known them for ever.
I did a bit of a search for you regarding Nuttalex and there are a few recipes on the forum using it. Just go to the home page and type nuttalex in the search bar - a few recipes will pop up there including this one for
Choc Ripple biscuits
.
You will also find dairy free recipes on
Quirky Jo's blog
.

Re Nuttelex, I use it all the time to substitute for butter- I buy the original and don't use the kosher or light versions at all. The latter two are supposed to be awful for baking but OK for everything else. I just substitute on a 1:1 basis. I definitely use the forum much more than the recipe community and you'll find that eventually it feels like a big family that you adopt! Everyone is great on this forum and if you ask any question, TM or non TM related, you'll invariably get a prompt answer! That's what I love about this forum- the knowledge base and collective wisdom of everyone on this forum is a phenomenal resource.
