Excited to be here!
« on: May 24, 2012, 04:52:39 am »
Hello Hello!!

My name is Corli-Anne and I've been longing for a Thermomix since a friend lent me one last year. Well... I took advantage of the interest free and my Thermie was delivered last week.

I live in Sydney with my hubby, two boys 3.5 & 16 months and a big yellow labrador (who is my 3rd child really!)

So far I've tried a few recipes with success and am looking forward to trying out more complex recipes. I have not tried the varoma yet.

Looking forward to more interactions  :)

Hello Corli-Anne, welcome to the forum.  What a lovely friend you have and what a great way to find out if you really do want one in your own kitchen.  Guess you were reluctant to give it back ;)  Like you, I didn't jump straight in and try the varoma but once I did, it's now the only way I cook my vegies and it's amazing the things you can actually steam in there - bread, desserts, even meat. Looking forward to hearing of your experiences, enjoy your time on the forum.

Hi Razco, welcome to the forum.
I didn't think to use the varoma for a long time, perhaps for a couple of months. I guess I was concentrating in learning how to use the actual bowl,  but after I had the varoma demo at home I started to use it all the time.
Have fun with your long awaited TM :)

Welcome Razco.  If you have ever done any steaming,  that is what the Varoma does.  Have a go.  Especially good for veggies.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I am steaming the vegies in it tonight  :o I figured there was no point using the steamer when the TX was sitting on the bench not in use.

Dede - I have made quite a few things so far. Scones, dip, whipped cream, pumpkin soup, chicken nuggets, stir fry veg (this was a HUGE hit!), 5 seed bread, dinner rolls, chilli con carne (we are using left overs for burritos tonight), coconut cake, custard & 2 different batched of jam!! Wow that is a lot really... basically I have only cooked in it since it arrived but I must admit I was a little scared of it initially!!

I am a teacher so made sure I had pretty much finished my reports before it arrived because I knew I'd be obsessed!!

Nazar and Cooking - good- looking - I once read that once you have kids you realise your dog is just a dog... I have not once ever thought that. I do wish I could run away with the dog occasionally. Love my fur-baby

Can anyone run me through what will happen at a demo? Mine is booked for June & I don't really know what to expect. If this info s somewhere else - just send me there! Thanks

Razco sounds like you have cooked a lot of new things since getting your TMX- are all of the things you mentioned in the Everyday Cookbook? I am so excited to make my own 5 seed bread (is that like Baker's Delight Cape Seed Bread?)

I agree I totally love my dog still! She gave me so much in so many ways before my daughter was born I can't understand why or how I could just stop loving her.

Question for anyone that can answer it- do you have a seperate Varoma Demo as part of the purchase of your TMX and is that done with your consultant? Thanks!

CGL - almost all are in the EDC except the chicken nuggets that are in the community cookbook. Yes seed bread was nice but hubby couldn't get the thought of a Polish Cake his mum makes because of the poppy seeds so no poppy seeds next time.

I still have naps with my dog

Welcome to the forum Razco. You have certainly made good use of the thermomix so far. You must give the varoma a go. I was hesitant at first also but have to agree with the others, the vegies are excellent.

It looks like you have been busy since your TMX arrived.
