Theres an app called big oven, lots of recipes on there used canned soup. I havent made any recioes from the app because each recipe I have been interested in requires canned soup!!LOL

 :)

Hally - check out this link on the forum called "Can the canned soup!" from Quirkycooking - you could make your own "canned soup" for those recipes you'd like to try . . ;D ;D

meatloaf sounds good, or rissoles.
that way they keep, and  can be heated up again.

No shopping today, I spent $100 on friday, so nothing till next sunday.

Can't see why you couldn't use normal milk, Hally . . I'm no expert.  What do others think?

. . and thanks for the nudge about the mini meatloaves!  Just what I need to do today! :D :D

I have really blown it this week!
I spent $99 at the supermArket as I didn't go to the supermArket last week, then I spent more at the growers market yesterday too. I was seduced by some local calamari which cost me $15, bringing my market shopping to $75. In total, I spent $175 against a budget of $135, but it averages out at $121 over the fortnight.  :D

That's pretty good ES. I love averaging it out. It's more realistic. We are all going to have weeks when we entertain, buy something in bulk etc.

Last week I came in under budget at $116, but I've blown it this week! Spent $137.57 so far & will probably need more milk before next Tuesday. I was seduced by reduced legs of lamb, and a sudden desire to cook corned beef! I spent around $45 on meat, but much of that will go into meals for the freezer, so not too bad I suppose.

Our grocery prices must be so much dearer than yours down south.

$160 for us without meat is nothing, and I don't buy processed stuff

Obbie, I was also thinking our prices much be dearer then down south.. Last few weeks have each been $143 and $148 for the two of us. No processed foods.  No softdrinks. Nothing is cheap and the prices if fruit and veg  :o

One treat only - one small chocolate to share! (always watching my weight)  :D

However, I have been counting meat, toiletries, panadol (1 box lasts 2 and 1/2 days), etc that perhaps not everyone is counting. Will be interested to see what I spend this week. I am hoping for a small shop only.

Elleg, small tip for you buy cheapest paracetamol box of 100  is usually $1.99 to $2.50 . Same as Panadol.huge saving. You can sometimes get 100  for 49 cents.

Thanks Gert, but I can't swallow the round panadol.  I buy caplets at Coles - cheapest I can find. I know it's only about $1 for 24, but it all adds up, ESP on the budget  ;D
