Lean and mean.

Gert

Isn't it lovely to look at a stocked - not over stocked freezer. To see what you have and be able to put your hand on what you want, not have to shuffle through a pile of - what the heck is that?

And to look in the pantry and see EVERYTHING you have.

So far so good for me this week - if I take off the $89 I spent on bulk meat yesterday that is.  ;)
Still need to buy a few salad veg and ice cream this week, should come in just under my $100.
:D

I would really like to try this...... I don't see how it's possible though, without buying the cheap and nasty versions of some things (bread, milk, etc...)

I should be able to keep the bill down, as it's just me and my three young ones (aged 4, 6, 8), but I spend almost $200 per week :(

I will read through the middle of this thread for some tips.

Does anyone find that shopping online helps?

Hi Sunnyzoe, welcome to the challenge.

You will be amzed how much you can save if you menu plan around waever  food you already have.

I dont buy generic brands, my milk fruit  & veg are from aussie farmers delivery.

Its hard the frist week or so, but it gets easier each week & most of us really enjoy it.

Let us know how you go.
We must be on about week 12 now & all doing well.

Astarra, what are you doing about milk? Fresh fruit etc.

I would love to have a no spend week, I just cant see hw ???

Do you buy more the week before?

We could eat a lot of freezer left overs,, we probably have enough if I cooked a roast too.

We are off to Singapore on wednesday midnight horror. Maybe I could do next week  as its half a week & see how I go.

So at the weekend just buy some milk & nothing else. Be interesting but I am going to try it.

So this week I have $150 budget, next week 0.

I will make extra food for my friends family this week. Already done a few things.
