As long as they didn't charge you twice, you won out there Gay  ;)

Yes indeed, Judy!  Broccoli is not one of my favourite vegetables (but working on ways to make it more palatable . . ;D) and this poor person whose order we ended up with had a whole plastic shopping bag full of the stuff . . . DS thought the irony of it was hilarious! :-))  But we're getting through it slowly but surely . . . . .  :-\

Woolies are selling their big tomatoes at $2.48kg, and romas $4.98.  They look really nice too, bought 3kg of romas and 1.5kg of the big ones.  :D

I blew my budget again this week, spent $149, including $40 of meat. I need to do a cook-up to re-stock the freezer with meals for days that I'm working. Still, I used to spend at least that much every week in the bad old days!

REALLY eager to do this challenge but am wondering if there's anyone doing this challenge & buying organic vege & pasture-fed meat?
I'm wondering if I should give it a go or if $100/wk is an unrealistic target for organic?
I have no idea what I spend on avg week. I know this week has been $79 but that's because I haven't been shopping (just organic vegetables & goats milk delivered).
We have changed to organic b/c of allergy issues - I hadn't been able to eat fresh veges for past 2 months because my tongue & throat swell up, it was really scary trying the tiniest bit of organic celery a fortnight ago, but no reaction. Have since tried other veges & fine. Tried regular celery & swelled up again. So, we *have* to do organic.
Wondering what a realistic budget would be (2 adults, 2 young children & a breastfed bubba) for us?

I don't count my meat either.

Freezer full of our very own grass fed beef ;D and family sent us lots of other meat from their farm.

Almost out of everything else, off to Aldi tomorrow when DH away at motorbike show.  Trying to work out how many of us for how long so only get what I need!

I realistically spend about $150 per week for 2 kids, 2 adults, then I cook dinner for my M&D about 4 times a week too, and bake alot.
I don't count meat or fish, as I buy in bulk..

 :)

welcome and come and join in.

why not try and start a vege garden with organic seeds... ( just a thought)
