In the past 10 weeks I've had 6 x $0 spends and the freezer is still chockers - I must be eating something but not here long enough to do too much cooking.

Astarra, that's a great gift. I guess you'll be looking for pork recipes for a while.

Very very interesting, not interested in budget this week, (due to wisdom teeth out) did a big woolies on line & dh shopping $293!!!!!!!!!

Havent spent that much since the challenge started.

Need to be very good over the next few weeks to claw this back.

Budget $135, mmmmmm, must stick to it. We do have a very well stocked pantry & fridge :)

Just shows, not being careful, ordering on line being caught by specials, not being abe to get to the supermarket, so buying more than we need, plus a free for all for dh & cp :o

I'm sure you will get back on track Hally once you are feeling better. I'm trying to encourage DH to start looking at what we are spending on groceries but he's not that interested and does most of the shopping. I will always buy things on special and look for bargains but he just buys what he's got in his head he needs or is on the shopping list. I really want to start saving some money and this is an area I think we could easily spend less in. Saying all that we don't buy many prepackaged foods and don't buy many treats, snacks, soft drink etc so I might be kidding myself that we could cut back!!

Yes Wonder, already looking at next week meals & what do we really need. I will do an average just before we go away in August, so it shoukd be OK.

Dh spent $20 on yoghurt! He will sit & eat out of a large tub at night & finish it during the evening. I have been limiting him to 1 per week. Also bought sara lee ice cream for me & magnums for kids & dh. Lollies & chocolate too. Bread, mmm $20 too, lots of extras I just dont buy anymore, also when we run out of stocks unless basic essentials, I dont buy until next Weeks budget. Dh as been shopping daily. Plus aussie farmers which are not cheap.

So easy to see where the money has gone.

You will be surprised how much you can cut back when you start. Write down everything you buy this week & see what you can reduce next week.

Good luck wonders dh :)

so we cleaned out the freezers, now I have 2 full, 1 empty.
Had more than I realized. Now we have a inventory for me written out, so I can meal plan.

Shopping this week $390 :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

But that included soft drink and chocolate for 2 party's coming up.

Should only spend about $50 each for the next 3 weeks.

My spend was $29 this week for tomatoes, lettuce and milk.

$143.04 for this week, slightly over my $135 budget.

Next week, must stay in budget. It was a lot of fresh produce & also deli meats for a pizza lunch here with friends sunday.
