I have ordered it for friday as we dont have much fresh food atm. Also the weekend we are out both days so the lasagna would be good & I need a picnic for sunday, so it works well. My week goes wed- tuesday.

Argh, our food bill is nearly $200 again this week!  Not sure what I'm doing wrong at the moment - or if things are more expensive in general.  My goal is $150, and a few months ago was doing well with $140 - $160 most weeks.

I think maybe it's meat - going to plan some vegetarian nights for a few weeks and see if that helps.

That $100 challenge deal sounds interesting.  Will be interested to see what's in there, not that I can exactly order one myself  ;) I remember several years back, one of the supermarkets here came out with a "feed the family for $100 per week" menu plan.  At the moment, we have one doing "Feed 4 for $15" (dinner) which doesn't sound that cheap to me for just one meal.

Jo Nz, I know what you mean, I have raised my budget to $120 as prices are so high. I posted what was included in an earlier post. Will monitor what we have for the 5 days, whats left & what extra I  added.

DH and I could easily live on that amount of food for 2 weeks. Freeze what we couldn't use up.

Be interesting as there is no yoghurt, cream, flour etc.  So I think I will be using items we already have or buying the odd thing. Interesting to see how it pans out :)

Yeah but at $100, I could add my extra $20 as my budget is $120. DH may have to cut back on his socks though.  ;D

Robyn there are only 3 of us and I spend $50-$70 a week on fruit. We each have a banana a day so that is 21 bananas for starters. This time of the year there is so much lovely fruit that we really tuck in. I make some jam too when it isn't too expensive.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Had to smile... Store running a draw where you can win a year's fruit and veg. They've worked it out on an average of $30/week.... ;D
