$159 again this week, but I still need some more fruit...or maybe the kids can have tinned fruit in their lunchboxes for the week.

I thought we had plenty of apples for the week, but we've got a Hepatitis A warning out (a fruit packer that handled certain apples and peaches has got Hep A - wore gloves etc, so risk minimal, but the warning is there, so may as well not chance it) so I now have plenty of stewed apple instead.

I thought I might be near budget, but no way, only 1/2 way through week & I am $140 already.

To be honest to myself I am not really trying, I am not buying like I used too when anything & everything went in trolley but I am buying nice luxuries ie good cheese, cashews, ice creams etc.

One week I will get back to budget, a week of living off what we have & only buying essentials :) that will be a nice feeling.

Maybe I should aim for that next week :)

A $0 spend here this week for me.

It sounds like you've lost your passion to keep costs down Hally and if you can afford to buy what you like then there's no problem with that.  This thread has been good though and encouraged us all to think twice before loading our trollies with things we don't really need, especially those on a fixed income.

judy, I have decided next week, (doing menu plan now). Is going to be in budget. Yes we can afford to go over budget, but you know me I love a challenge.  One of the easiest weeks was the aus farmers feed your family for 5 days for $100, that week I was in budget :)

The last 3 weeks have been over $200. I tend to buy cashews etc when I need them Hally. We eat a lot,of nuts in various forms or other.
I bought a lot of meat ( well about 6 lots) of meat this week. My Woolworths is going to give me an $80 voucher, so that will reduce my 3 weeks to less than $200/week so it was worth it.

$183 this week, but I got quite a bit for that (2 wines, some cleaning things, cat food, big bottle of oil as well as quite a bit of meat on special).  So reasonably happy with that.

My week goes from Sunday to Saturday, stayed away from the supermarket this week sent DH yesterday for milk and tissues, we only spent $6.85 last week, hoping to come in under $150 this week. That's for everything, it's getting harder to feed 4 adults and a cat and stay in budget.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I passed the $200 again last week but at least when the receipt was printed it had a $25 voucher on it to help reduce next week's shop. I'm expecting my $80 voucher anyway. They say it has been sent.
