Hop on a plane and go down there Gert.

If it weren't so cold I would be tempted.

Yeah she got the beauty and the voice. She can dance and plays several instruments as well. I was the middle child.

I'm ready to go now that I'm back from holiday.  Today's first shop after a months holiday was $133. Hoping to average $300 over the next three weeks.   I cook for the family on Sundays so tend to cook a stack on Saturday and live on as many leftovers as possible after Sunday.
Making
Lentil dal ( made it today and had a third tonight so have frozen the rest for two more meals)
Slow cooker roast lamb (from freezer) served with ratatouille.
Bacon quiche (bacon from freezer) and salmon quiche (hoping for a couple of leftover pieces to freeze for some time during the week).
Chicken vegetable soup (hoping to freeze half)
Going to have a go at making homemade baked beans with ham hock and tomato sauce  in the slow cooer - never tried this before.....
Baked potatoes ( with leftover ratatouille and cheese or with home made baked beans and ham and cheese)
Banoffee Trifle (Sunday lunch desert)

Lunches are bread or toast or leftovers or soup.
Breakfasts are usually porridge and stewed fruit (pears and apples this week).

I'm hoping to have a few meals extra left for next week or the week after and cut down the costs those weeks to catch up on the extra $33 spent ths week.  Bought a lot more veg than I probably needed.

Good to see you back and straight into the challenge Jude - it's fun.

With an extra mouth to feed over the weekend Hally, it is not surprising you came in just under budget this week.  I hope you don't need anything between now and next shopping week though ;)
