I might take a photo of my pantry and then show you what it looks like this time next week.
It's not very tidy though.

Just do it mcmich. Be a good challenge now we have the food budget under control. I wish we could just have an exchange meet.
I will trade you two cans of this for one can of that. What a hoot that would be.

That's an excellent idea.
Would be so much fun. I've got a lot of packets of things I need to organise into containers too or get rid of them.

The fun thing about this challenge is that it has led to other areas of spending... electricity bills, insurance, buying a coffee when out.

Interesting reading

I have been menu planning on Paprika since the middle of May. I am surprised how many times we have eaten left overs!!! I am obviously cooking too much ;D

Its good to go back & see what we have eaten, I forgot all about Chelseas yummy chicken  kiev unil I read we had it for dinner one night.

Has anyone else been keeping track of their menu plans?

Gert,
I love your pantry. It looks so tidy and organised. If I had one in my kitchen, it wouldn't look like that. My problem is that I haven't got one place to put all the food together, so it is spread over a number of cupboards, and I end up with duplicates. I'm hoping that I can reduce the amount of food I have and only replace things as I use them, instead of buying them "in case".

I haven't been keeping track of the meals we have eaten, but I'll try and remember what we ate last week:
Friday - tuna mornay
Wed & Thurs- lasagne and salad, chocolate hazelnut self sucking pudding with custard. That should read self SAUCING pudding!
Tues - Pasta carbonara
Mon - risotto
Sun - leek and potato soup
Sat - dinner with friends

Sue that definitely is not tidy. I just cleaned out my closet and really did a job on that. You should have seen the car filled with clothes for the salvos. I ain't gunna be size 12, or 14 any time soon. Everything went I had not worn in the past year bar one or two sentimental things. I sever got rid of a beautiful pair of shoes  I went all the way to Hawaii  to buy. No place up,here for mauve high heels with gold dots on them I guess.

I did buy some new clothes and changed my 'style' completely. No longer  buttoned down Gretchen but I discovered the things I wanted to buy are mostly black and I have never worn black but what can ya do if that is all they have in your size in Cairns? You would think it was downtown Melbourne the clothes they sell here.

Oh well as where was I? Oh yes the pantry, I do not have "in case of "but I have to have "back up"and there is a difference!

Here are the pantry photos and will see what I can use up and tidy away this week. Way too much stuff in there.

It was a bit hard to photograph being a corner pantry but you get the idea.

I think that is really just right mcmich. I like the narrow shelves. Noice.

I have a corner pantry too. But my shelves are really deep, and its so full.

then I have a cupboard for pasta.
another for Baking... flour, sugar, cocoa, sprinkles, bread improver
another for milkshakes, milo,

then my corner for my pressure cooker, spare TM, kitchen aid, on my bench.

Oh, the good thing I came in under budget for the week today at $94.00.

No more spend till next Sunday... :)
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

You did very well at $94.00 Robyn.
I'm glad I only have narrow shelves in the middle section as nothing gets lost and forgotten up the back.

This weeks spend has been $186.73 which leaves me with $63.27 for fruit, veg, eggs, milk etc top ups. I have more than enough meat, chicken and fish in the freezer to last and plenty of pantry and fridge staples as well. Hopefully my girls don't eat everything too quickly but you never know what they are going to go for, they like to keep me on my toes and change the rules often :-))

$40, a big chunk of my budget, was spent of 3 cases of coke zero for my DP, he has a couple a day and if I don't buy them this way he buys then anywhere and can spend over $6 a day  :o this works out a 59c a can and should last a month.

Love the pantry shots, I should take one of mine tomorrow  ;D

Thank you. We get paid fortnightly so I am working on $250 a fortnight for myself, DP and our two girls aged 3 and 5.
