Can I join please? Just added up our credit card and took note of the money spent on food, toileteries, cleaning products for June - $859.88 for 2 people!!
We had two sets of visitors for a few days each. God knows where all the money went! We had been away so did restock so now fridge, small freezer and pantry are all full. We dont drink softdrinks, buy prepared foods, proceesed foods, chips, we make our own yogurts, how can we have spent so much?? Everything is usually made from scratch. This month I would love to join and actually think about what I am spending. I am also going to go back and count a few other months and see what I spend.
Last year I remember I added up a month and it was just over $400.
Lovely pantries ladies. Love drawers in a pantry, so efficient.

H, I am back on Challenge. This week will be interesting as we have a Birthday party and DD and GC for 2 days. Also have Farmers Market on Sat. Have spent $20 so far.

So far my weekly shop is 98.21 which includes 13.00 at baker's delight! The dangers of shopping with hungry children. I forgot a few things so the total is likely to go up. It's going to be a strange week as the kids are off to Adelaide on Friday & because I have to work I won't be joining them until Monday night, so I haven't done much menu planning. Could be some spicy takeaways for me over the weekend, I don't think I've got the ingredients to make my own.

Welcome to the challenge ElleG. Your shopping bills sounds like mine used to be.
I think we are on week 6. We have all eaten well on this challenge & my DH has certainly noticed the difference in our credit card.
He said to me, our credit card is the lowest its been, its down by at least $1,000.

Must have been DH noticing day ... we got a credit card bill yesterday which was down by $800 - which is not bad considering we had a 3rd birthday during last month!!

Its so nice to see everyoe is saving so much money. The fortnight including aussie farmers this week I am up to $101.11, so have $133 for next week, but will probably do another shop saturday or maybe monday. My biggest expense will be dairy & fruit & veg. If
I came in at $200 for the fortnight with eb here i wouod be amazed.

Thought I better start looking at the back of my pantry, it has deep shelves. Found 7 different types of tinned cuury or pastes, obviously pre TM days. As we have eb with ds next week, ds & eb probably wont eat these, my goal is to use 2 tins. They are decent ones imported from Thailand, my other goal is to try & get through some spaghetti. All kids love spag bol, so I just have to think of other ways to use the spaghetti without making spag bol every night.
I have only 5 tins of tomatoes now, thats amazing me for me.
Very pleased how I have been getting through the freezer food. Still have a far bit of soup, but we can have that for lunches. After tomorrows dnner, we have 2 lasagnas & 2 meat pies, pls the soup & silverside thats pretty good for me.
Anyone else found a stack of things?
