I spend about $400-$450 a f/night on all our groceries including cleaning, hygiene etc.
So I'm already within the budget :)
I usually buy milk in the 3 liter bottles at $3, I buy 3-4 of these at a time,
and I buy 10 loaves of bread @ $1.49 a loaf and throw in the freezer, this way I don't need to go to the shops too often at all.
My lot are not so keen on slicing there own bread so I just make bread rolls a couple times a week. :)

I definitely need to do this Hally. I'm someone that has spent more on the weekly groceries since getting thermomix not less.
$100.00 should be really achievable for DH & myself.
Although I spent nearly that on one meal when all the family were around yesterday.

Great michele, i think its doable. Have a look in pantry, freezer, fridge & plan the meals around what you have already. I have a fair bit of milk at the moment, so baked custard tonight. Left overs tonight whch might normally not all been finished, but todays evening meal & lunch tomorrow. Soup is a good cheap meal, with yum home made bread.  My problem will be in reducing my cooking time :)

It will be interesting to see what we all come up with.

Hally darling I am in.
I spend about $160 per week, but this week only $140.
That's for 4 of us, but I also cook main meals for my parents at least 4 nites a week too. :)which is 6 of us.

We buy meat, chicken fish in bulk, have 3 big freezers. 2 are empty, I have just ordered 1/2 cow.
10 kilos of king salmon
10 kilos of barra

5 kilos of coral trout.
Hence I cook all meals, and lunches, no take aways ever, no dinning out, Only 1 week a year on holidays.

Buy in season is a must, and menu plan when you can.

Hi Robyn.
The fish sounds wonderful in bulk..   Is the fish you buy pre-frozen?  Is it in fillets ?
We shop at a fresh fish store but I never know how to freeze the fresh fish so it doesn't go soggy.

This is excitement plus. So happy so many of us doing this. Yay, $100 per week.

Just looked in my thermo server & it is full of yesterdays minestrone, I have a whole thermo server, thats a few lunches. Ths is going to be so much  fun, normally I would look at the soup & think oh great we have heaps left, sarcastic voice, but now its excitement ;D.

Going to put everyones name at the top who is up for it.

I must be an expensive shopper. I usually sp[end $150-$200 a week on my food.  That includes meat, milk and all fruit and vegies as well as cleaning etc.
I'd certainly give it a go Hally if I was home. Up here I spend about $50 a week and that includes $30 on my lotto. I had a very big sppend up before we came. It would be a good challenge.  Lots of soup and casseroles.

I do the same Mandi.  I buy 2 litres of fresh milk then when we run out I use the LL rather than go to the shop and buy so many other things as well.

I should really join in  too.My freezer is full as are the cupboards. However,  I'm not sure I could make it as I spend about $18 a week on milk alone as I buy jersey milk from the farmers market.
Our school has just started a competition where we earn points for each dollar spent at our local shopping centre. So now is not really the time for me to curtail my grocery shopping. LOL
We actually won the competition last year which included a canteen renovation and 2 Thermomix's for our school. We are keen to win at least the local prize this year. I will follow this thread with interest and am keen to find out how you all get on. Good luck!
