What are you going to make with your yarn Chookie?  How many balls are in a hank? I've never been to a country show but it sounds like something I would like too.  Glad you had a lovely day.

Nearly had the pantry cleaned out, and DD brings two cloth baskets of food over from here pantry, they are moving back home. DD and DS this weekend. Now to find room to put it all. Lots of double up spices.
Been trying to stick to my $100.00 budget, little over this week $115.00 that was with meat to feed 4 for the week.
Only bought 2 things that weren't on the list, I am loving this menu planning we are pretty much sticking to it.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Well I have lst 1 receipt, it was around $24 but did include a few items like soap. Plus out of character but a box of spring rolls for the party.

So I will say it was $150, probably slightly less but comfortable with that. Before the challenge it woud have been $350-$400 easy with a party on.

DH came with me today, he was trying to add lots of extra things, I said is it on the list you wrote, he said NO, I said PUT IT BACK ;D ;D

He was very impressed with me.

Next week $100 for sure, think we might be having party food a few nights, will need to freeze all left overs sunday.

Must use a tin of curry this week & a pkt of spaghetti.

Everyone is going great guns, its fun too.

H :)

You're having a party Hally - Enjoy.

My total this week is 85.97c. Very pleased as this is 3 weeks in row I've been under $100.

Same here Michele.  Yesterday spent $60.   Very pleased.  Included in this was a Duck and  corned beef.   Will need to menu plan for next week.

U haven't participated in this initially because I was away. I spend about $150 per week (not counting meat) I will have to have a good look at it and see if I can cut back.

I am starting to worry about this challenge as we are going to Melb on Friday.  I need to go to the nut and spice shop,  the Italian grocer for some Parmesan Cheese,  and to the Chinese grocer for chicken bones. I am making a list. :'( :'( :'(

Chookie, I like what Judy does and averages the cost over the year.
While my aim is to stay within the $100 a week, the weeks I stay under help with the weeks I'm over.
So over the past 7 weeks my average is $104.31. Happy with that and so is DH.

It is easier Michele as some weeks you need to buy bulk purchases of coffee etc or expensive items which last quite a while - as long as it evens itself out and you stay within a budget you have set yourself averaged out over 12 months, it works well.  I've had 7 x $0 shopping weeks already this year so you can imagine how they are going to help bring my average down at the end of the year.

That's wonderful Judy. How do you go for fruit and veggies in your $0 weeks?

That is because our Wonderful Judy is so organized... :-* :-*

I spend zero during the week, only groceries on Sundays.

$145 for 6 people  this week is good..

Off to menu plan the week. I found more cookbooks today in the cupboard for inspiration..
getting ready for party next Saturday :D
