:'( :'( :'( I think I ran out of everything this week. I was just over $200. That includes veggies, fruit, meat etc etc.

I don't think that's too bad Cookie seeing you needed to restock on everything.
I just can't get my bill down, :-))

I was cross this week as my bill was nearly $200, but have menu planned for next week around what I have in stock now and will not be buying any groceries then so it is not too bad.  :D

We have had someone sick in the family over the last month & haven't been really planning or doing proper shopping.  So no real idea which is not good working out a meal plan to get back on track.

$175
At least it is staying under $200 but not as low as I'd like!

I read on a blog last week, one family lives on $320 a month for a family of 5.

they would not eat much with our prices up here :)

Obbie I was reading a similar blog the other day great effort but I must admit I love a few treats and being able to have what I want even if a little more expensive. While I'm not striving to get to $100 per week and don't really track what I spend, I have noticed my shopping is much less now that I make the effort to shop at Aldi first then pick up the what I couldn't get there at Woolworths. I was reading on a TMX facebook page peopel waying their shopping was in excess of $1,500 per month and don't see how peopel possibly go below that!!

Many people don't have to worry about how much they spend so they couldn't possibly understand that some people have to make ends meet Wonder and it's amazing what you can do when you have to.  That was a tactless comment that person made on FB.  A pension for the month is not much more than that person spends on food alone.

Wow, $1,500 a month. I am not sure I could regularly spend that if I tried! I have managed to keep my spend a little lower for the last few weeks as $200pw was getting too common, and looking like this week will be another one around $160-$170. Would love to get get it down below $150 again though.  Might have to read one or two of those frugal living blogs!

We had an article in the paper this week about feeding a family of four for $80 per week (and promoting a free downloadable cookbook from the heart foundation). I am grateful I don't need to keep the bill that low - like you Wonder I like being able to put in treats when I want to. From what I can tell, the meals in the cookbook weren't as varied as we like to eat - and apparently DH cannot survive without regular steak meals! ;)
