Name of Recipe:
Chicken, Bacon & Cheddar Sausage Rolls
Number of People:
Makes 24 or more if you cut them smaller
Ingredients:
180g cheddar cheese, cubed
100g stale bread, broken into pieces
75g bacon, roughly chopped
2 spring onions, cut the whole onion, green tops as well into 5cm batons
130g carrot cut into 5cm chunks
140g apple, cut into 1/4's and cored
handful parsley leaves
500g chicken mince
2 tblspn tomato chutney
1 tsp salt
good few grindings black pepper
3 sheets puff pastry or butter puff, thawed
1 egg whisked into 60mls milk
Sesame or poppy seeds for sprinkling on top
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 200
o
C. Line 2 trays with baking paper.
Place cheese and bread into the TM bowl and grate
6 sec/speed 8
. Set aside into a large container.
Place bacon and spring onions into bowl and chop for
3 sec/speed 6
. Add to other ingredients.
Place carrot, apple and parsley into bowl and chop for
3 sec/speed 6
. Add to other ingredients.
Add the chicken mince, chutney, S & P to the other ingredients and mix in by hand, squishing it through your fingers to mix thoroughly.
Cut pastry sheets in half. Take a handful of the filling and shape it into a log. Place it along the centre of each piece of pastry. Brush the eggwash on the side furtherest from you and firmly roll the pastry over the meat, pressing to seal the edge.
Cut each length into 4 rolls. Into 6 if you want smaller rolls.
Place the rolls onto the lined trays leaving a 4cm gap between each one. Brush with remaining egg wash and sprinkle with your seeds of choice.
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
This is a recipe from Dairy Australia's Dairy Kitchen which was in our daily paper - easily converted to make good use of the Thermomix.

Judy, sounds like a good mixture. Thanks.
H, could use tomato or chilli sauce to replace chutney.

Yum
I added in a crushed garlic clove also.
I liked that they didn't seem as fatty as a regular sausage roll.
