Hello all, sorry to hear about fires In Sydney. Best wishes to all.
I have been on a news blackout for weeks now, but hoping soon to have radio and tv sorted.... In a few weeks. Too much dust at present.

Another serious dust storm tonight as DH removed rotten plaster from around new windows in kitchen. Pub again tonight for supper, rang them up and ordered and turned up to eat and drink and left. Back to more DIY.

Windows are completely finished apart from a little paint needed on the render when it has dried. A good job for me. Plasterer came today. So did the window boss. It may have been a debacle, and very stressful and a huge delay but they have all done their absolute utmost to put it right and at the end of the day they are very good windows.

The baths came back tonight, one may go in soon, when that one is done then the other can be done. We need one bath or shower fully functioning for all of us. The dates on them are 1951 and 1965 or 6. this is when they were originally cast.

One oven came today, am pleased with it was a factory second as meant to be dented, but can't see any dents and it was half price. Will take 4 large loaves at a time. It will be tricky to fit under the worktop, but good when done. It is guaranteed and they tested the thermostat before selling and it was within 1' of temperature so I thought that sounded great.

Hope the seminar was good Yvette.
Off for a wander around the forum. Can't wait to get cooking properly again.

Dj it sounds as though you are on the  other side. You did not collapse in an heap and it is looking good. Being warm inside with out the "breeze" makes a difference and won't it be lovely to have a long soak in the bath soon.

The fires are horrendous. Hopefully a better day today.

It is all coming good now DJ. Still a lot of work but the worst is over.  Once the plastering is done and you can clean up and paint wahoo! Hopefully you will be able to cook a lovely Christmas Dinner  sitting at your table  and give thanks for everything coming together for you. Maybe dog can sit at the table too........Just once though!

Morning everyone.  Hope those in fire areas are keeping safe.

DJ, it looks like the worst is over and there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Good luck with it all.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

We have an amazing product called Barricade. You can spray it on a house with a normal garden hose in a thin film and it will protect it from fire.

Tha sounds like an interesting product, any chance of a link to get more information?

www.barricade.net.au $535 is the cost for a home kit and that's all you need as long as you have a garden hose :) it's waterways and environmentally friendly and easy to remove. Department of Environment are trialling it now for fire breaks.

After seeing all the dreadful reports down south it's time to get serious. I had a brain wave and am enlisting the help of a friend to attack the social media side and help with marketing. Our Facebook Page is running already Barricade fire gel. And I'm supposed to be on my day off lol.
