Chookie that breakfast looks very Appetising.

Frozzie I would be freaked out. I would actually ask very politely why they are photographing your children. You could say "have my children offended you? Why are you photographing them?"  Then say that you are upset by it and would they stop.

This morning at the supermarket I saw an elderly man chatting to a little boy in his Mum's trolley. The little one wouldn't answer. Then the man realised and told him he was a very good boy for not speaking to strangers. So very sad, but a fact of life nowadays.

Frozzie - I have the same but have always spoken to the people doing it - mostly they say they didn't mean anything by it and stop or ask to continue, but there have been the odd few that got irate with me asking them to stop....one thing that gets to me is they never do it when DH is with us.  ??? >:(  It totally freaks me out too.  :-\

Astarra good in a sense its not just me but i really dont like the attention as I imagine you dont either...so sad and makes me angry and also when dh isnt there too.. Hadnt noticed that but true.. But have been with other female friends.. Frustrating....

Cookie.. I might try that next time asking them why just to see what they say...when people are filming them they are never being naughty just playing together and once just eating at a table with me.. ?? That was freaky .. Very freaky and got me quite angry as I was travelling alone with them so my defences were up!  I do get there are some ppl that are just being friendly and see sometimes my kids are confused but I tell them they can interact with other adults if they are with me but never ever alone.. It is sad that good people feel like they are doing something wrong for talking to a child but im not talking about talking... Filming and photos to me is never ok.. Talking is a whole other thing.. As long as its not creepy or sneaky..

when in vietnam it was ridiculous.. Ppl wanted to take photos with dd everywhere we went and i mean everywhere...and only her but it bothered me less as i get thats a cultural obsession with blue eyed fair kids especially blond girls which dd is not but anyway still it got to her in the end.. But here I dont get it.. Yes biased or not my kids are cute .. They get told it every other day pretty much wherever we go here so I try to play it down with them as dont want them growing up with attitudes but there are alot of cute kids around so ...????

Life is sure more complicated now. My children are 26 and 24. We didn't have mobile phones. Taking and developing film was expensive.

Why on earth would you want a photo of a child you don't know? I can understand your angst - the photo might end up on some undesirable website.  :(

Just to add a little humour to a very serious subject. Frozzie your DD is very pretty obviously. I taught a sweet little girl in her first year of school. She was a darling but at 5 years of age definitely no beauty. She wrote in her daily diary for over 10 weeks, "I am beautiful."  Within in a coupler of weeks she could spell beautiful. I am sure she grew up to be a stunner, but she was the only 5 year old I knew who could spell beautiful. ;D ;D ;D

That is creepy frozzie. Has never happened to me.......guess my two boys are ugly 😉☺ but then again I do live in town known as "sleepy hollow"! On a serious note, I think I would say something if it did happen. It's tough being a parent. Trust your instincts, they are always right.

Great breakfast chookie.

Thats cute cookie.. Beauty to me is far more than superficial beauty which is what I try to teach my two... A beautiful person is far more valuable than a beautiful face.. Anyway thanks all for letting me get this issue off my chest.. And confirming my thoughts..society can be really sh$@&y !

Mich my parents say to me often that they had it easier as parents than we do today with everything from creeps being more accepted by society, harder drugs and morals in general gone out the window where ppl find it amusing to hurt and kill other ppl for fun and the list goes on...who knows...they even worry which they didnt do with us or not for the same reasons..!

Years ago now the local newspaper took a photo of my tow boys when they were on an out of school daycare trip. They published it without my permission, and when I phoned them to complain they tried to get me to pay for a copy of the photo!  Luckily things have changed in daycare and put of school care but random strangers photographing your kids is just wrong. If they don't get permission from a parent or carer then it is basically assault.

I generally tick the box in school and after care organisations that photos taken by them for their use and purposes as ok as they do sone great things and its nice to have photos when your not there but again never photos by strangers and dont like them publicly available on internet as some of you know and never by creepy strangers.. There is no good that can come from that .. My mind boggles!!
