My own fault.  Would you believe I tripped on a carpet square!!!!  It's just I didn't need this as just 10 weeks after knee surgery and I don't want anymore.

Oh no Trudy. So sorry. Fingers crossed for your appointment.
Robyn I honestly think they are a waste of money. If you want to run......go outside and do it. You get the benefit of fresh air, flat and inclined roads/paths for variance and best of all....it's free!  Even if you try outside running for a short time, to see if it's your thing, then get a treadmill. You can run for a short distance then walk, etc. Sometimes the boys ride on their bikes while I run. It's like my own little support crew and gets them outside too. Good luck with your choice.

Trudy since having my back done I have found that it is easier to trip. It has sort of thrown me out of balance. I'm sure it will improve with time. Perhaps having your knee done has done the same to you. Good luck.

Morning all.
Trudy,  not good news.  I hope you get a good report from the Dr.
Obbie, I have a walking machine and find it very handy,  especially in the winter when is it cold and wet here.  It is basic and I bought a cheap TV to set up in front of it.  It was originally my DD,  she hired it and had it for so long that the hire shop said she could have it for free when she wanted to up grade . The biggest problem is space. They take up a lot of room.  Not a problem here and myDD has a whole room set up as a gym.  Even with gardening,  I still find it difficult to do 10,000 steps a day without it.
It is a good idea to hire one first.  Not expensive.

Take care Trudy, so very sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you are not in pain.

I have a rebounder and I use that for rebounding or just walking and occasionally (!)  jogging, for a few minutes at a time.
Tips on its side to store. Great to do the 'walks' in bad weather. Great for joints as low resistance.

I usually use in 5 min intervals through the day. It's adds up to quite a bit in the week. At the mo I start with ten mins exercises for my back, then 5m on there, then another 5 mins later and a half an hour walk up the lane and in the fields. Am building up slowly after 7 weeks of lurgy. It makes me realise how unwell I've been.

Trudy, sorry to hear of your fall.  Fingers crossed for you  :)

Had an interesting day, went for my eye check up for new glasses and ended waiting for several hours to see the Ophthalmologist.  Had laser surgery on my eye for a tear in the retina.  So ladies if you get unusual floaters in the eye get a check up as they said they caught mine early.  Happens apparently with old age.  Have to go back in a weeks time for a further check.
