I'm lying in bed listening to the rain, love all the rain we are having, no sure about it being cold though.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I agree Robyn.  Jo is ever so slight, a good sneeze would blow her away. Whilst I don't agree with all her theories, she is certainly a walking advertisement for them. I think she did some work with Paleo Pete Evans recently.

Good afternoon everyone. :)  Just popped home again for a few minutes to check on the mail and house.

I hope the family are enjoying their holiday Mab. We haven't had good holiday weather for a couple of days.

Here's a couple of photos of the room my DD & SIL made up as a children's room.  They've had great fun collecting old wares and antiques for this house, it's a bit like a museum.  I didn't like to take too many photos but the kitchen is really interesting with a collection of early electrical applicances, old toasters, sunbeam mixmasters etc, he doesn't stop at 1, some items there are several models.

Judy and I went to Quirky Jo's seminar last night.  It was nice to see Judy, she was looking relaxed after her holiday.

The seminar was sold out and there were hundreds of people there.  Jo demonstrated a few recipes, but the night was mainly Jo talking about how she got started on her journey, commencing her blog, writing her cookbook and why she eats the way she does.  She went through her cookbook, discussing what recipes were in it and again, the reasons behind them.

I found it interesting. Jo's way of cooking isn't the way I cook.  I do have her cook book and I've made a few of the soups and main meals from it.  A lot of what she does though isn't for me - I'm never going to be activating almonds or making bone broth etc.  Whilst it might not be my thing, I was interested in hearing her talk.

We had a few tastings at the end - the green coconut chai smoothie was delicious, as was the beetroot ciabatta topped with macadamia pesto.

We had a group of ladies sitting behind us (who were old enough to know better) who persisted on talking throughout the whole seminar, which we found annoying and rude.  Judy was tempted to "shoosh" them!
