Good morning everyone.  Yes, SIL in particular, cannot walk past old things and cannot understand why I like to declutter in my home LOL.

Whilst I was typing this Katie has given her opinion of the night.  I've decided to still post what I'd written, our opinions are very much the same though.

Quirky Jo's class - there were so many people there last night for her first seminar, Katie & I thought there had to be 300 people there at least, maybe even more.  It was a complete sellout and so many young people too.  We introduced ourselves to Jo as she was signing books, she's a lovely lady with impeccable manners.

If you go to something like this, particularly with Jo, you should know what the evening is all about but obviously the girls behind us were rather bored as they spent some time talking amongst themselves which Katie & I thought was very rude.  We were only a few rows back from the front and Jo quite possibly could hear them herself.

Katie & I don't have intolerances (apart from her DH with nuts) but we both have her book and naturally that's what Jo's seminar was all about.   She made the following items

Coconut green chai smoothie - a winner for me. I kept going back for more and will definitely be making this one.
In TM31:
Nut butter or Spreadable butter - didn’t  see this on the table to be able to taste
Beetroot ciabatta - this was quite nice
Coconut cream - no tasting, it was used in the ganache I think
Chocolate and coconut cake with marbled ganache  (cake was premade, she only made the ganache)
We tasted samples of the following recipes:
Green chai smoothie, Beetroot ciabatta served with Macadamia Pesto, Gooey Fudge Flourless Brownie (premade brownie, nothing like a brownie really but probably great for those with allergies).

You had to fight your way through the crowd to the sample table but there was plenty to go around.

The evening will not change the way I cook but for those with intolerances, we all know Jo Whitton does it best.  The most interesting thing to me was why HO backed her on this book.  A publisher said the book was 'too quirky' so Jo then thought she would make an eBook.  HO could obviously see the potential in the book so decided to come on board so it was a win, win situation for everyone.

I'm glad you both enjoyed Jo's seminar. You both knew exactly how Jo cooked, that may have helped. Her journey has certainly been up and up and full credit to her. The talkative people should have been booted out.
I love some of her recipes, but wouldn't even touch others, but that is much the same with all cooks/ chefs I like.

Great honest review girls. Thanks. I think I'm the same, love some of her recipes and ideas but have no dietary requirements so it's not a lifestyle thing for me. Can't believe the size of the class. You did well to get a taste of things. Ooh and her brownies are better served warmed with a dob of double cream just saying.

I just googled house Martin. They are very pretty. Reminded me of Willy Wagtails.

For the first time since Ted died I had a friend over for dinner. Used the barely used TM 5 making Pork and cider Stew from the Cooking for Me and You book and the TMX  DIED! Error C160. I am not impressed. All together I am not impressed with this machine at all and wish I had my TM31 with two jugs back. The locking lid is a pain in the ass and it is just too tempermental. Overly engineered I say.

Written to my consultant and really don't care if it ever comes back. I wish I could get a refund.

Oh nooooo Gert. What a pain in the butt!!! No wonder you are spitting feathers.
DH thinks the TM31 is/was a better piece of kit.

On another sad note. What a sad day for cricket with the death of Richie Benaud  :'(

Oh Gert, what bad timing when you had a visitor. I can understand your feelings, I would be disappointed too.

There will never be another like Richie Benaud Denise and the world knows it, very sad indeed.

Morning all.
Gert, what a B......r.   I'm using my 5 as if it were the 31.  Only make custard and pumpkin soup from chip. Have the new book and chip but haven't used it.
Nice weekend coming up.
CC, those little Martins are lovely to watch. Nice to notice signs of Spring.
Have to agree about Crickets loss.  A loss to sport in general as we don't see many decent sportsmen .
