It will take your Mum a while to learn all the new routines and where things are Judy. Also what goes on each day. Thinking of you all.
When MIL went to her nursing home I made her up a little bag of goodies as I had done with my Mum. Mainly shower gels, moisturiser and bits and pieces like a few chocolates etc. MIL spent the first day unraveling the 'thing' I had bought her that you squeeze your shower gel onto. It wasn't what I had planned but it served the purpose of taking her mind off things. Gotta love her.

I too hope the day has gone well for your Mum.  Change is often difficult at any age but more as we get older.  I hope she is surrounded by people with empathy.
Looking forward to your next update and hoping it is all positive.

Well that went without any hitches.  Mum loved her room, enjoyed her lunch and told them so, met so many new people, residents and care workers all very friendly towards her and she got to play some games of bingo this afternoon.  I just sat back with Geoff watching her and she interacted well with the others at the table. SIL came in and whilst Mum and Geoff had lunch, her and I went to the local hotel for a meal ourselves.  I went back to make sure all was well then I left them both watching a Daniel O'Donnell DVD as I wanted to head off to collect some more gear from Mum's unit and wash all her bedding.

Glad all went well Judy; so nice to have them both together for your visits. Another special time in your life caring for your Mum.

Helped by the fact my dear Mum just goes with the flow and doesn't make waves girls.  I think she will sleep well tonight as she wouldn't have had time to have a nap (or two) as she used to have when she lived in the retirement village.

What a relief for you Judy.  Now to finish moving all her stuff and finish the cleaning and you too can relax. Well done Judy X

So glad that your mum and Geoff are in the same nursing home Judy. There is a certain level of comfort knowing that they are in a good caring facility. That is how I feel about my parents who are in the same nursing home and upto now - in the same room.

Good morning everyone,  having breakfast in bed before heading off again.  Should finish emptying cupboards today.  Supposed to be going to a show tonight with Probus but have had to cancel out of that one.  Thank goodness we're having sunny days here, it's making things so much easier.

Hi friends.
The rain has blown away and it looks as if we might get a nice day.

Chance caught a squirrel this morning :-)) Boy their claws are sharp as I found out went I took it out of Chance's mouth. It took off like a bullet after being released.
