Good Morning  ;D

Up early so I can get to the shops. I'm sure it will be busy even at 6am. Everyone wants an early start and we create our own crowd.

Good morning everyone, another hot one here for the last hectic day before the big day.  I'll be staying well away from any shops today and tonight will be going out to dinner with my DD and family before taking the GKs to see the lights in nearby suburbs.

Morning all.
We are going to DD for lunch and Dinner. Taking lots of stuff.
Have made Lemon Butter, garlic bread, Ice Cream x 2, cooked pots for pot salad. Will pick more Raspberries to night. Would have liked to make a pav but too hot to light oven. Will make a trifle instead.
Had a disaster making eggs coated with Porcini. I bought extra eggs. These haveatougher shell than the home grown ones. Need to be cooked for a minute longer. Will adjust recipe.
Have a busy but pleasant day everyone.

Do take care everyone. It has cooled down here, thank goodness.
As soon as DD headed to work DH was into preparation. I'm enjoying him helping, he does some things rather weirdly but I don't say a word, he wouldn't help if I did.
We've done Potato Salad, Russian Salad, trifle, cooked the pork roast and the stuffed chicken breasts I've created with spinach lining, veal and mince stuffing with cranberries down the centre has just gone on. This is a new thing for this year. I hope it works. I have tomatoes roasting slowly in the oven with chilli and garlic and EVOO on them. We've also done a layered salad. A couple more things to do then that will be it.

Everyone is very busy preparing for the big day.
The shops where very busy at 6am and not a carpark to be found when I came out at 6:45. A car actually followed me to the car.   ???  DH has the turducken in the oven and I've started making the triffle. Will make the salads first thing tomorrow morning. Have also made an apple pie for tonight dinner at DH's request. The pastry is a bit crumbly but better than some of my efforts of late.

You all sound so industrious with your Christmas cooking.  We have been so busy with work I haven't even given food a thought ... I will think with envy of you all enjoying your day - we will have to have our own special celebration early in the New Year when we have finished sorting everything out at work and have time to relax and enjoy good food and doing nothing in particular.

Hope  you all have a very happy day today and that Santa has been good to you.

Morning all.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Hot, windy and a nasty one here today. Fire ban day so men and women will be at the stations. Will drop off some goodies as we drive past .
Cookie, that does sound very nice.
Marina, we will be thinking of you and hope to catch up when you have your break.
Michele, I like the idea of Apple Pie. Enjoy yourselves.
CC, hope it remains mild for you.
