How awful. I can cope up until about 32 or so. Then I cave in. Do you have the house air conditioned?

I’ll swap you Denise, we expect 37 here today but then a few days of rain with lower temperatures. Just hoping the rain doesn’t affect the Test Match here later in the week.
Thanks Cookie. Got to 35 today.
My goodness girls that hot !! Very cold here today LOL Frost on the ground when I walked Chance this morning. Even the puddles has a thin sheet of ice on the surface.

Still hot here, well over 30 again but then over the next 2 - 3 days we are predicted to have an entire month's rain fall - at least the temperatures will be down.

CC, love the sound of the frost and ice. It was very hot yesterday and same today. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain. Saturday is not looking good and GD is playing Bagpipes with the school Pipe band at Dalesfords Annual Highland Gathering.
(We have zoned AC. We used the bedroom zone for the first time last night. )
We are going and meeting friends and I am taking a picnic lunch. I bought some German made glass jars from Aldi, and will pack a Salmon salad. We have a fridge in the car so this will keep food fresh.
Going out early to do the shopping.

Obbie, we use the AC as required although we don’t turn them on until necessary. Ballarat is not strong in its electricity supply. There was supposed to be a massive renewable energy development ready for this summer season, near Ballarat. Nothing has started yet. We try to do our bit by not being extravagant.

Good morning everyone. A nice cool change overnight but not as much rain as I expected which isn’t unusual in my pocket of the state.
It doesn’t sound good for Melbourne with a ‘super storm’ coming your way, batten down the hatches and stay safe if you live there.

Good afternoon everyone.

We arrived home from Lord Howe Island on Wednesday after a lovely restful week.  The island is lovely, temperature was about 22 deg and a bit humid, life moves slowly and everyone is very friendly.  Food and groceries are quite expensive due to the fact that everything has to be freighted in.  There are very few cars on the island and fuel is $2.95 ltr.  Most people ride bikes or walk.  The locals are very enviromentally conscious and they have some very strict rules.  No cats on the island, very few dogs, no seagulls, but lots of other bird life.  I will put a couple of photos in the holiday section.

The forum is very slow at the moment so I will load the photos later.

Mab, glad you had a good holiday.   Nice to get away.
Like Judy we haven’t had as much rain as predicted.  Tomorrow is supposed to be heavier. The Highland gathering has been cancelled.
We had lunch at the Fishing Club Restaurant. Nice to watch the showers crossing the lake.
Went shopping and selected curtain material for Library.  Ordered cabinet to go beneath TV. And ordered cushions to be made for new cane chairs. Expensive but satisfying morning.

Welcome home Margaret and thanks for the rundown of the island.  I’ve never known anyone who has  been there.

Welcome back Margaret. Lovely to know you had a good time.

I got caught in a snow showers walking Chance this morning. Chance met another Springer Spaniel called Frankie on our walk. Her owner was on her daily run.

Lord Howe Island sounds lovely.  Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Not as much rain in our part of Melbourne, but that doesn't mean much in Victoria - the weather here is totally unpredictable.

I'm still undecided about going up to Guildford for the weekend, but I think I might give it a try and see how it goes - I can always turn around again if the roads are flooded.  If I get caught, be sure to give me a wave as you see me floating past!
