I used to do the same to my parents a hundred or so years ago.

Happy harvesting. Dad always used to say that when you were harvesting that it meant money coming in except for the petrol $$$. Not good when it is hot and windy.

It's finally started to rain and hopefully it will wash away the ice and snow. It was hard going walking Chance this morning on the hard ground.

That's a hot day reaching 40c Judy. :o

Morning all. Nice and cool this morning after 35 degrees yesterday.
Obbie, did you get the SD starter?
Judy, we saw that you had a stinker.
CC, how does Chance go in the snow?

Chance is fine in the snow Chookie. We do watch out for him when it’s icy as he can’t stop easily when he is running. We don’t want any broken bones and expensive vets bills LOL.

Good morning everyone.  Cooler today but still a little humid.

Hope things go well for you Robyn.

Snow sounds good ATM CC. We are baking here. The thermometer (which is in the shade on the balcony) says 39.5 C and it's still climbing!

I am checking on the chooks a lot today as they don't like this heat. Have to make sure their water stays cool. Apparently they will die of dehydration rather than drink warm water  :-)) Also I may have put cooler bricks in the nesting box so the girls can stay cool while they work :D

Gosh that is hot Gayle. Poor chooks.
I hope all goes well for you Robyn.
We are off for coffee with some close friends. DH needs to chat to them about his brother! It was going to be secret men's business but the girls threatened to go out somewhere expensive for lunch, so now we are included. DH said he wasn't really going to exclude us!!!!

Well that worked for you cookie LOL.  You girls might surprise them and come up with some good solutions to any problems.

Poor chooks and any other animal having to cope with high temperatures Gayle.  I hope they appreciate your efforts to keep them cool.

Blimey that’s hot Gayle!! Lucky hens having you looking after their welfare.

We still have snow and ice on the ground. Hopefully it will be all gone by tomorrow.

Lovely to catch-up with good friends Cookie.
