Oh Mich, that is sad. I still have your phone number so next time we head over the Nullabor (which may be a little while as we want to stay near MIL) I can still chase you. Take care dear friend and all the very best. Hugs.

My goodness it's cold here today. Getting colder over the weekend as will have winds blowing from the arctic.

Brrr Denise.

We have had humid weather the last few days, rather uncomfortable. It's only 30-32 but sticky.

CC, Nice to wake up and see you have been busy on the Forum overnight.  ;D
Have been checking out the U3A classes at both Ballarat and Creswick.  A SD class is run at Creswick and the cost is $70.

Are you going to it Chookie?  You could teach them a thing or two.
Good morning everyone, how’s your weekend going? I had a lovely surprise yesterday when my SIL from Melbourne knocked on my door.  He never comes empty handed - 4 bottles of Moscato and at long last he found an old jaffle iron for me at a Melbourne market.  Can’t wait to clean it up and put it to the test - will it be as good as I remember as a child I wonder.

Good morning everyone.

A nice surprise for you Judy and with wine as well, lucky you.  I love jaffles too, we have an old jaffle iron here that we always took with us when we were camping.

Chookie, will you be attending the SD class, like Judy says I am sure you could teach them a thing or two.

Jaffle irons are so good for camping.
We had a round one when I was a kid that went into the wood fire.  It was given to me but someone took it from outside our van one evening. We now have a square one.  Our house before this we had electric hot plates so rarely had naff led as it meant using the van. Here we have gas hot plates so a jaffle is often on the menu during winter.

Last year Ral and I looked in on this SD class.  We have never seen so many bored looking people.  They had each made a small SD loaf.. and she is charging $20 for materials. And $50 for the class.   What a rip off.
They were taking the loaves home to bake.  $1 worth of flour.
Also love the old fashioned Jaffle irons .   Judy, what a treasure. Love when you can cook them in an open fire.
When I was studying Archaeology they had just dug up Mungo Man.  Ral said he could find the spot although it was being kept a secret. When we arrived at the dig , in our little caravan, in the middle of the desert,  we were welcomed with open arms as the students on the dig had been eating baked bean jaffles for 2 weeks. We had fresh fruit , veggies meat eggs and cakes and biscuits.  .We happily exchanged these for being allowed to assist with the dig.
Hate the modern electric jaffle irones.   You can’t get enough filling in them.

CC, you do sound cold.   What do you do while sitting by the fire.  ?
A warm 30 here today.
Still cleaning out cupboards and drawers.  Still coming to terms with different life style at Invermay.
